Ganyu - Napping, Qingxin, and Paperwork Amongst the Rumors

Aether yawned, stretching his arms as he opened his eyes. The leaves under the tree that he was sleeping under greeted him.

As he tried moving more to sit up, he felt one of his arms unable to raise upwards, making him blink for a moment and look to his right arm.

His lips curled into an amused smile, seeing Ganyu fast asleep next to him, his arm wrapped around her waist. He can see her sleep soundly, making him ponder on when she ever came by to take a nap with him...

...especially when he is currently in Monstadt, taking a nap under a tree that was near one of the gates of the esteemed nation.

He can feel a pair of eyes staring behind him, which he presumes to be a surprised Paimon that probably awoke from her food coma after eating Delicious Sticky Honey Roast by herself at Good Hunter before he took a nap.

It took him a moment to give a mental shrug to himself, accepting the situation as he pulled Ganyu close to him in hopes of getting her more comfortable, going back to take a nap on top of the grass. He could feel her shift slightly, and before he knew it, she laid her head on his chest.

Aether swore that her lips curved into a small contented smile for a brief moment before going back into soft snores that he knew of her doing before repositioning her into a more comfortable position.

He did not say anything as he closed his eyes and went back to sleep, ignoring Paimon's surprised squeak at what he was doing.

He also did not say anything when most of Monstadt's word of mouth went on a roll with the latest rumors circulating about him and Ganyu taking a nap under the tree near the gate. This latest rumor on the mill caused Kaeya and Lisa to tease him so much more about that and Amber seemingly not being able to look him straight in the eye.

This was the consequence of his seemingly uncaring decision at the time, much to both her and Ganyu's dismay.

Aether and Ganyu did not talk to each other for a long while in hopes for the rumors died down, even though they never did. This made Aether and Paimon forget to ask what Ganyu was doing there in the first place.

"I did not know that where the Qingxin flowers are grown can matter that much in terms of the flavor..."

Aether exclaimed as he and Ganyu were picking the said flowers around the mountains near Qingce Village.

Ganyu hired him on a commission to be her escort in getting more herbs and such for her own personal use after weeks of not talking with each other after their nap under the tree near Monstadt. She could've gone to the pharmacy or asked Yaoyao for the herbs that she wanted, but he knows that she orders an embarrassing amount of Qingxin flowers and that she rather not burden those people with her salad diet.

Even if he were not commissioned, Aether would have joined her anyways as it was quite rare for her to be out besides her adeptus training, so it was a good change of pace for the both of them.

"Of course. Plants and herbs can differ in taste depending on the altitude where they are grown. But in the case of Qingxin, they are naturally bitter yet..."

Ganyu explained as she picked up a flower from the ground.

"...since the ones here are lower to the ground level than the ones that are in Qingyun Peak, the Qingxin around here are bitterer."

Ganyu explained as she unknowingly took a bite of a petal of the Qingxin flower that she was holding in one hand while carrying a small basket filled with freshly picked Qingxin flowers in the other.
