Ava has always believed that the most romantic thing in this world is to receive a response to the concerns of youth, like a sweet arrow piercing through time, finally arriving.

Isaiah didn't return until two in the morning. He abruptly lay back on the bed, reaching out to pat Ava, regardless of whether she was asleep or not. "My stomach feels a bit uneasy. Do we have honey at home?"
Usually, every time he came back from drinking, she would immediately make a cup of honey water. Ava lay still, not moving.
Isaiah sat up, turned on the bedside lamp, and touched her again. "I saw your electric bike downstairs just now. Did you ride it back? It's raining heavily outside. Riding a bike is dangerous. Didn't I tell you to take a cab?"
Having had enough of his sweet talk, Ava sat up, revealing the cut on her chin. She spoke calmly, "You know riding a bike is dangerous, yet you didn't come to pick me up?"
"Did you fall?"
Isaiah, concerned, leaned in to examine her chin but she avoided him. "You don't need to worry about it!"
Isaiah furrowed his brows, helplessly saying, "I'm working. How can I just leave? Besides, I can't drive after drinking. You could have taken a cab yourself. Why do you always get angry over such trivial matters?"
"Ava, I've been really busy lately."
Ava remained silent, her gaze slightly lowered, and her unstable breath revealed the anger building up inside her.
Busy?
Is it busy with work, or busy dating other women?
The other woman happens to be her colleague.
If Sadie hadn't intentionally placed her lit-up phone on the table during the shift change, letting her see the chat history with Isaiah, she would still be in the dark.
Sadie even deliberately told her, "I made plans with a friend to see a play in the afternoon."
Ava couldn't understand when these two crossed the line and started contacting each other.
Ava worked at an old five-star hotel, and only she and Sadie were on duty at the lobby reservation desk. Sadie, one year younger, was lively and clever, with a scheming mind.
Ava was soft-hearted. Whenever Sadie encountered situations or troubles at work that she couldn't solve, she would postpone it until Ava's shift and let her handle it.
For example, during today's shift change, Sadie handed her a difficult guest.
The guest, surnamed Qi, wanted to reserve the deluxe private room, Bamboo Dream Pavilion, for tomorrow noon. However, he was very dissatisfied with the minimum consumption of three thousand and had a dispute with Sadie.
