Cybertronian Wolves before they were called WolfCons were used basically for the same purpose of Earth dogs. But one must gain the trust of a Wolf as they are gigantic wild beasts. They can can be extremely intimidating and temperamental.
They are quite the intelligent species being able to tell one's intentions through their body language and emotions. Before the war they were mostly used for a protective companion and even for police forces. Unfortunately there was evil out there using them for dog fighting, making bets on which one would kill first and trying to make them stronger.
During the war they were trained to look for Autobot symbols and to immediately attack. Almost all of the Wolfcon have yet to realize they have the ability to transform into an anthro form. A few others have gain their consciousness ability to do that, but unfortunately Reventon has yet to realize this but she soon will!
