Breathing in the warm spring air, Druk stalked her prey. Once the boar had its back turned to her she would strike.
She leapt from her spot in the bushes and tackled it to the ground, where she would pull a dagger from her belt and stab it through the chest. Once the animal was dead she would start to butcher the animal for its meat and fur.
She had become the resident hunter ever since her dad became a single father and so he had to dedicate himself to being in the house instead of gathering food or any chores other than working.
She had 4 other siblings her father had  to take care of as well and they themselves were too young or too busy with school to be able to help with gathering food. So Druk took it upon herself to help do chores for the family, one of which was hunting.
After finishing with gathering all the meat and fur from the boar, Druk gets up and starts the trek home. Looking at what she was able to gather she thinks it will be enough food to last her family about a week. There honestly wasn't much meat that couldn't be used, it wasn't too lean not too fat, being about perfect for consumption.
Along the way she noticed the sun had gone down and it was already night.
'Damn, was I really hunting for that long? I need to hurry back to make sure everyone's ok.' She thought to herself.
Picking up her pace, Druk traveled down the trail and got a glimpse of the moon.
'What a beauty,' she claimed in her head.
'I wish I had more time to gaze, maybe tomorrow."
Within an hour, Druk had returned home and was greeted by her father.
"Druk, it's so good to see you back, were you able to get anything good?"
Druk smiled and nodded her head, while doing so she took off her satchel and placed it on the dining table. She pulled out hunks of meat and then pulled out a long piece of boar fur.
"Damn, you got a hell of a good haul," her father told her, "He'd be so proud of you."
The young woman smiled back at her father and leaned in for a hug. For a moment she thought she swore she heard a sob come out of his mouth.
"I love you," he told her. "Don't you ever forget that."
Druk smiled back at him and nodded her head.
"Get some rest, you deserve it," he stated.
He let her go and watched her head upstairs.
He sighed, "I really wish it didn't have to be like this."

The next morning Druk woke up to the sun shining through her window and the peaceful sound of silence.
She got up and changed into some normal clothes. She put on a black sleeveless shirt along with a torn overcoat like shirt. She put on her pants and headed downstairs.
Down there she saw her father sitting at a table across from some man she had never seen before.
Approaching the two men, she looks at her father and begins speaking to him,     "Hey dad, who's this?"
"Ohhh, just an old family friend of mine, known him ever since I was 9." he replies.
"I'm Jasper." the man says, holding his hand out.
  "I'm, Druk." she replied.
She grabbed the man's hand and shook it. He had a sweet, small smile on his face.
"So, Druk, I've heard about your hunting prowess, quite impressive might I say," he told her, "I was just here to ask for a favor from your father that had to do with some hunting and he told me about your skills. If you're up to it, I could use your help, I don't want to bother your father since he already has a family to take care of. So I think you would be a good replacement. Hell, I'll even pay you."
He grabbed a tiny bag from his pocket and held it in his hand, "There's about 2 pounds of gold in this bag, I'll give it to you for doing some hunting for me."
"W-wow. That's quite a bit, are you sure you can afford paying that much? Making money is kinda hard these days..." she replied.
"I'm quite sure. I'm pretty well off and your dad told me you guys could use a bit of money, so I thought I could hire him to do a job for me instead of some stranger off the street. I like to work with people I know and trust, and knowing your father, I bet you have the same work ethic and loyalty as him."
He smiled at her and handed her the money,  "Work will start tonight. I'll be back here to pick you up and take you to the job site."
He looked at her one last time and then swiftly left out the front door.
"Nice fella isn't he?" Damien asked his daughter, "I never told you this but he's been helping out ever since OTHER DAD'S NAME died. His death really messed me up and it caused me to be a bad father for you guys. Jasper contacted me and that's when I realized life was still worth living, for you guys."
Damien got out of his chair and went to give his daughter a hug.
He pulled back and looked her in the eyes, "You'll love working with Jasper, he'll take good care of you."
Druk turned around to see her little brothers coming down the stairs.
"I'm hungry" the youngest, Kinryu, told them.
"That's my cue. I better get to making them breakfast, otherwise they'll be grumpy all day" Damien told his daughter.
He went over and took his kids over to the kitchen with him and got started with cooking them breakfast.
Druk smiled and grabbed an apple before walking outside.

Later that night Druk was laying in her bed when she heard knocking on the front door.
"Must be Jasper" Druk told herself.
She left out her room and ran down the stairs to greet Jasper.

Taking the job offer would simultaneously be the best and worst decision of her life.
