"Yaanah!" My mom yelled. Today was my first day of sixth grade, aka middle school. I've been at my school for 5 years now and let's just say the past 4 haven't been the best. So I am just praying that this year goes well. "I'm here, I'm here," I said packing up my backpack. "Eat your breakfast in the car, you're gonna be late." She scolded. I rushed out the door and yelled a quick 'goodbye' and 'I love you' before heading to my car where my dad and brother were waiting. "What's up, bro?" My dad said. He always makes the weirdest jokes like calling me a boy (Spoiler alert, I am possibly a Demi boy). We started the drive to my school and I started fidgeting with my hands. For some reason, I'm always so nervous before I get to school, even if it's just a regular week I always get a sickening feeling something's gonna go wrong. Yes, I'm a pessimist but, can you blame me? I'm usually always right. Oh my god, I am so sorry! I forgot to introduce myself to you readers. My name is Noah Rehman. As I said before, I am starting sixth grade today and am turning 12 on January 9th. I know what you're thinking, 'Didn't your mom just say your name is Yaanah?' The truth is, I'm secretly still figuring out my gender and for now I call myself a Demi boy. I haven't told my parents or anyone in my family except my brother because everyone is super religious and I mean, it's a Muslim household so, I mean, they would all pretty much hate me for it. It might be even worse that I'm pansexual too. I doubt I'll tell any of them anytime soon but maybe if I dare to in the future then I'll do it. Or if I end up marrying a girl, then I kinda have to.I arrived at school and internally started freaking out and thinking "Oh my god, I can't do this-" until I stepped out of the car and saw my best friend. "YAANAHHHHHH!" She yelled and then proceeded to jump on my back. "Hey Autumn, guess that you missed me?" I smiled. I consider Autumn like a little sister even though we look nothing alike. I'm not even kidding, she has blonde straight hair, pale skin, blue eyes, and freckles, is super short for a 5th grader(like 4'8 or something), and has a very petite figure. I, on the other hand, have dark brown hair, tanned skin, dark brown eyes, super tall for a 6th grader(roughly 5'6), and curvy as hell. "Well duh, my summer was so boring without you." She yawned exaggeratedly. I laughed at the motion and pushed her off- I mean, gently set her down off my back. I walked over to some of my other friends and talked for a bit about our summers until I saw a new student. See, I like meeting new students first before anyone else, that way all the assholes in my school can't corrupt them. I walked over to her and found out her name was Brianna. She had straight light brown hair with a pair of dark brown eyes and had a sort of dark shade of white for her skin. I'm horrible at descriptions. Anyway, I noticed she seemed to be quite lonely compared to the other new students so I tried to get her to be friends with the grade ⅚ girls in my class even though she's a 7th grader. It didn't work out. She seems to be enjoying spending time with the little kids though so that's good.
I saw my friend Ella talking to some new girl so I decided to talk to them. "Hey, Ella! How was your summer?" I asked politely. Ella is this girl who was known for liking horses in the past few years, and we were classmates last year so we got acquainted. She has wavy brown hair, green eyes, braces, and the palest skin I have ever seen.
Ella and I recently became friends last year and haven't quite become close enough to talk too freely around others. "Mine was fine, nothing new though. What about you?" She asked. I answered with how I travelled a bunch in Italy and Iceland until I noticed I was rambling. "Ah sorry, I can be talkative. I haven't even asked what your name is yet." I gestured to the new girl Ella was talking to. "Oh uh, I'm Kailah," Kailah responded. "It's nice to meet you Kailah, I'm..." I paused. I haven't told anyone that I go by Noah yet but I was planning to this year. Maybe I'll wait a bit though and let Kailah get to know me more before I reveal that. I mean, Ella doesn't even know yet so she'd be pretty confused if I introduced myself as Noah. "Yaanah. Say, you guys seem to be close already, did you by chance meet before today?" I questioned them. Ella answered by saying that she met her when she was doing a placement exam for the school. I nodded in understanding and proceeded to ask Kailah some questions about herself. You know, just to see what she's like. All I know so far is that she seems pretty shy. "Oh and do you like anime by any chance?" Don't judge me, this is an absolute MUST question. "I mean, I used to but I got bullied for it so I'm slowly getting back into it." I can relate to that. I can see us maybe being friends I guess. Did I mention that she's also like, SUPER tall? I think she's about 5'8 or 5'9 and has braces and blonde hair that I think is strawberry blonde. And a sort of pinkish-white skin colour. She is the only girl in school that's taller than me I'm pretty sure. I'm like the third tallest person in school next to her and some new kid named Austin who's like 6'5 or something. The teacher on duty yelled 'In Time!' Signalling that school is starting. We all went inside and got ready for class. We had a new teacher which I wasn't too happy about because I liked our old one but because of some drama with the principal, they didn't renew her one-year contract which pisses me off cus the principal was wrong there. Then again, this new teacher seems pretty nice, I think I'll come out to her after class. I sat down in my seat and did some reading, I thought to myself "Maybe I should talk to Kailah more later."
I hope you liked the first chapter of my catastrophic crush!:)
