The yelling always has scared me, but she's always been here for me. Luna's bloody arms hold me while father yells at me, whipping her back. He means to hit me, but she stays right there taking the punishment for me. Her wings are ripped at this point, her black hair falling in my face, I wish I had her healing power so I could heal her. Her being a half breed has ended in her unable to heal herself like the angels could. Her body is shaking from the pain and the tears on her face land and connect with mine as we both cry. I see from behind Luna that father took another drink of his gross smelling drink. The men in the background laugh as Luna lets out a scream and collapses on me. I scream and try to wake her as father walks away muttering something about being useless, her back is covered in bloody wounds that already look infected, of course why wouldn't it look infected when he uses a dirty razor whip? He doesn't care.

I take Luna to our room, her 80-pound body still weighs me down. I lay her on the bed and pull out her medical supplies that she uses on herself when she takes my beatings. I take the knife and finish taking off the shredded shirt, seeing how deep the wounds are makes me tear up again. How could someone who gave us life give us such pain? I wipe my tears and get to work cleansing and trying to stop the blood quickly. By the end of it she's wrapped in bandages, sleeping on the bed we share, I get the few blankets we own and cover her. We don't have much, but I can't lose her. The footsteps behind me make me turn but by the time I turn around something hits me in the head and I'm out.

I wake up with my wrists screaming from rope burn, my entire body is covered in bruises and my lower half feels disgusting. I can barely move at this point, my body shaking. I look around but I'm in a dark room, the door barely cracked. I try to stand and crumble to the floor. I have to get to Luna. I push myself to get up and get to the door, I look through the crack and see a bunch of men drinking and laughing, none of them are facing me so I sneak back to my room, limping on the way. My throat feels dry as I get back to luna. Shes so pale right now, I've never seen her this pale. I shake her awake and her eyes look glassy, it's like she's looking through me....

She finally looks me in the eye, then down my body, forcing herself to get up no matter how hard i push her down. Luna grabs my wrists and closes her eyes, trying to spread the bandaged wings. I try to pull away "Luna! You can't be using more of your energy!" I yell, trying to pull away more. I can feel the relief through my body as my bruises disappear, my eyelids feel heavy as my body goes back to being healthy while Lunas turns whiter. She pulls me onto the bed with her, holding me close to her while my eyes close and my body melts into her warmth and safety.

My 10th birthday. I stand at the coffin holding my sister's body. A single tear goes down my face while I stare at her pure white one, fathers not here, but Tio is. He's the one who took me, father is currently in a holding cell waiting for court after being caught with me and luna. When they found us, we were taken to the hospital, and they found brain cancer in Lunas frontal lobe. They tried to do a surgery to take it out but ended up killing her in the process, useless doctors. Not knowing what the fuck they're doing. I get startled by the hand that was slapped on my back. "Time to go home darling." Tio still stinks of alcohol, but I can see the obvious threat that only i will see, I nod and walk with him to his car keeping my head down. Staring out the window the whole way to his house, he has to put me in school at least. Guess I'll have some kind of escape from him. He pulls his blue Subaru into his nicely designed parking lot, the bushes along the side are nicely trimmed, the yard is mowed, his roses are growing strong. How this drunk man has this beautiful of a yard? His housekeeper. Tio is basically rich, I look up to the 7-bedroom house that's always been so empty aside from the lifeless pictures of relatives I never met. The door is heavy and a beautiful dark brown color while the outside of the house is just fully brick. We walk up the stairs, the hallways full of the lifeless paintings and pictures, as he leads me to my room in the back corner. Just a small white room with a small bed, a trunk, and a small desk.

I sit down on my bed with my small backpack next to my foot, just thinking about the events and the future, when Tio comes back into the room he gives me a set of papers, one is the rules of the house, and then a few are about the school I'll be going to, then he gives me a set of uniforms. "You start tomorrow." he states then walks out. "Also, dinner will be in hour on the dot if you want to eat. If you don't make it, then you aren't getting food." he calls while walking down the hallway. I sigh and get up to pack my clothes in the trunk. 8 years till I can move out. 5 till I can get a job. I can make it.

I head down the hall to the dining room at 5:58 so that I'll be on time, the table is a beautiful dark oak, lined with gold, the 3 sets of plates are a black ceramic set. I raise my eyebrow at the third dish as he puts it down and he just huffs. The housekeeper walks in smiling and sits down in between where he and I will sit. I don't mind, I don't even wanna look at him, I'd rather be in my room curled up trying not to cry for my lost sister, the one who died so young. Lost her life 12 years into it. How sick. I eat quietly while the housekeeper, Olivia, chats with Tio. at the end of the meal, I excuse myself and go to my room, laying on my back, closing my eyes I see Lunas face, how could I have lost her so soon...
