Both of us settled in our class.as we were sitting down we heard some students talking about some special guests coming in the school.
"Do you know about the guests?" I asked Zeya while opening my notebooks.
"No idea." she replied casually. Soon the teacher came in the class and we greeted him.
Our first class is mathematics which I hate the most.
"Good morning, students. I want to announce that the trustees of our school are coming today. So I expect you all to behave nicely, and all of you must gather in the auditorium at 4:00 pm."
"Ooh! Zeya exclaimed, "I didn't knew this school had trustees as well." she said causing both of us to giggle at her comment.
"By the way, I heard that some new people are going to settle in your colony, "Zeya asked with curiosity.
"Well yeah, they are coming, and guess what they are my next door neighbors." I said while rolling my eyes.
She chuckled and said, "Best of luck" and winked at me.
I laughed and we both continued to focus on the teacher who was teaching us about triangles. Honestly, geometry is the thing I hate the most in mathematics.
The rest of the day went really fast and It was the time to leave the school, after saying bye to Zeya, I waited for the cab , but there came none.
After waiting for almost 20 minutes, I started walking, my home wasn't really far but it will take me 25 minutes to reach there. The weather was fine so I didn't mind walking.
As I was walking on the road, my eyes fell on a girl. She was really pretty, but she didn't seem to be from this area. She looked a bit lost too, as if she was thinking something. She was in the middle of the road when a bus came, the vehicle horned but the girl didn't seem to budge a bit. The vehicle was coming closer and closer, and the ringing of the vehicle horn was echoing in the street. There was no one else walking on the road, so I quickly ran towards her and pulled her. I pulled her forcefully which caused both of us to fall down on the street.
I got up and saw her wincing in pain, her arm had got a short but deep scratch, it was bleeding also. I went near her and asked "Are you fine?"
She looked at me and said, "I am fine, thank you for saving me."
"It is okay but why were you standing in the middle of the street and didn't you hear the bus horning?" I asked with confusion.
She didn't reply and hung her head low. "I have to reach somewhere" she mumbled. ,As she stood up to leave , I stopped her "Wait! Take this bandage and put it on your wound, otherwise it might get infected." I said. She looked at me for some time and took the bandage while saying thank you slowly. She looked really weak and thirsty; maybe I should give her some water. But before I could stop her, she left. I was stunned for a moment, and stared at her retreating back.
