Jeff could not keep the smile off his face after Alan left his apartment. He toyed with the phone in his hands as he sat on his couch. He had this smile since he opened his door to see the man standing there. The last few hours had been intense and Jeff still had the built up adrenaline from escaping even a day later. But seeing Alan there grinning at him, released all that tension and stress. He caught himself returning the smile but tried to stifle it by asking about the multiple bags Alan was carrying. It did not work once he heard Alan had bought multiple types of food for him since he wasn't sure what Jeff liked best. Jeff could not turn Alan away after that so he let him into his apartment.
It was weird having Alan in his space. He could sense something was up with the man. He had a nervousness that Jeff had not seen before. Once they sat down to eat, Jeff wanted to explain away the butterfly feeling he got in his stomach, when Alan served him first, as just hunger. But he could not take a bite without checking why Alan had come. The butterflies took flight again when Alan admitted he was worried that Jeff was not responding to him. He explained to Alan he had not been answering his texts or calls because he no longer had his phone. He could see the relief on Alan's face that he was not being ignored. It piqued Jeff's interest. He wanted to know what Alan had said. More so when the man stopped him from getting the hold of the phone. He ended up a little distracted by how close their faces got when he went to grab it. And the cute way Alan seemed to get flustered by it.
As they continued to talk, Jeff could tell how concerned Alan was for him. He just couldn't figure out in what capacity. Was it a duty because he was older? Alan took his title of uncle seriously, but it felt like there was something more there. It was the way he spoke and the way he looked at Jeff, it felt like there was a deeper meaning to it. That thought was strengthen when Alan gave Jeff his own phone. Jeff decided to test the waters and ask if he could be Alan's boy. He didn't get a real response. Yet Alan seemed to be shy about it and Jeff got a hair tousle for it before the older man left. Is there a chance it wasn't only Jeff feeling there was something between them?
A buzzing in his hands surprised him. He naturally checked the phone's notifications.
Sonic 🦔: Sooooooo how's it going
North 🤪: Did you confess your undying love to him????
North 🤪: And that you want to have his babies🫃
It took a second to remember this was not his own phone. That they thought they were talking to Alan. But why would they write something like this? It couldn't be that Alan actually came here to tell Jeff that he liked him. As if to prove that thought wrong the phone buzzed again.
North 🤪: Sonic do you think he is not responding because they are getting it on?
Sonic 🦔: Alan and Jeff sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g
Sonic 🦔: 👨❤️💋👨
Sonic 🦔: That could be you and Jeff if you weren't playing
North 🤪: More like 🍑🍆
Jeff wanted to throw the phone across the room in embarrassment. That made it clear they were in fact talking about himself and Alan. The question was did they make this up on their own or did it have some truth to it? Jeff remembered how Alan tried to stop him from reading the messages he sent when he was kidnapped. He thought that might be worth looking at. He went to unlock the phone only to be asked for the passcode. Dammit, Alan never told him his password. Would he make it an important date? Maybe the date of his first win or when he officially started X-Hunter? Could it be Alan's birthday? Or possibly Jeff's birthday?
No, he was being too presumptuous. There was still a huge chance that Sonic and North were simply joking about Alan liking him. He only had a few chances to get the passcode right or he would lock himself out. Jeff thought long and hard. He got an idea and hoped that Alan wouldn't be this stupid but knew he was. He typed in 1234 and the phone unlocked.
He clicked on the messages app and looked for their chat together. He got distracted as he saw the last message Charlie had sent Alan. He was already invading Alan's privacy so he might as well go all in. He clicked on to Alan and Charlie's chat.
Charlie 🐶: like i said before i support you and jeff being together
Charlie 🐶: but if you hurt my brother...
Charlie 🐶: i will kill you 🥰🔪
So Alan already got his brother's approval to date him. That means the two of them had to have talked about him liking Jeff. Now he really wanted to see what Alan sent him when he was missing. He backed out of the chat and looked for his own. He got irritated seeing the mouse emoji next to his name but clicked in to see what was sent. The chat was a wall of text only on one side. He had to scroll up quite a bit to get to the beginning.
Alan: Hey I heard you left the garage early today. I wanted to check in and see if everything is okay?
Alan: I'm not mad or anything. I understand if something can came up but you could have told me.
Alan: I'm worried. Not just as your boss.
Alan: Why did you hang up when I called? Can we talk?
Alan: I see that you're reading these messages. I just want to talk. I'm not mad I swear!
Alan: Or are you mad at me? Is that why you aren't answering?
Alan: I thought we cleared everything up when you came to my house. I really don't care about your dad no matter how much of a horrible person he is. I would never judge you for that because I know you aren't. So if you are avoiding me please don't. I don't like not hearing from you.
Alan: Can you at least send a sticker? I don't care if it is one flicking me off.
Alan: I was thinking of going to the cafe you like. You should come too. My treat!
Alan: Also there is a car show in town. It should have a lot of vintage cars. Wouldn't it be nice to look under their hoods? Let's go together.
Alan: Or if you don't feel like going out maybe we could do something chill like watch Netflix?
Alan: I am not saying Netflix and chill in that sense! I mean let's watch a movie.
Alan: Do you not like movies?
Alan: If you're not going to talk to me can you at least talk to Charlie?
Alan: You know he and everyone is staying at my place for safety. You should join us.
Alan: Charlie just called me and filled me in on everything. I am so sorry that happened to you. I feel so bad. I should have realized something happened to you. Things are getting so crazy. Please come stay at my place. I made up a room just for you.
Alan: You don't have to if you really don't want to. Please let me know that you're at least at a safe place now.
Alan: Please say something.
Alan: Good morning, just checking in on you. Everything okay?
Alan: Have you had lunch yet? I can bring you food if you want.
Alan: That's it. I'm coming over!
Jeff's face was now hurting from how hard he was smiling. Alan was too cute. He locked the phone and put it in his pocket before heading to his bedroom. He went to his closet, grabbing a bag and filling it with clothes for a few days. Alan did offer to let him stay over. He should take him up on that. He felt the phone buzz again. He took it from his pocket and shook his head in amusement as he read the messages coming in.
Sonic 🦔: Come on answer us! We want to know if we should start planning the wedding
North 🤪: And the baby shower! 🍼

Hello all! I hope you found this short fic cute! I tried being funny because it has Sonic and North but that can be hard >_<|||
I was going to finish my PetexWay smut fic today but I just watched episode 9 and absolutely hate Way. The scene with him and Babe was hard to watch so I wrote this to try to cheer myself up. Hope it did the same for whoever needs it! Wishing you all the best ⋆˙⟡♡
