Broken Promises

You promised you would be there,
And you swear that you are on your way,
But I think it's just a play that you wanna play,
And you know that I'm taken for granted,
That you might think you are my air I breathe.

But now I see through the veil of deceit,
Your words, once sweet, now bitter and incomplete.
In the shadows of doubt, I stand bereaved,
For the promises you made, I no longer believe.

You were meant to be my rock, my guiding light,
But now I'm lost in this endless night.
The air I breathe feels heavy and cold,
As the truth of your intentions unfolds.

Yet, I'll rise from the ashes of this broken trust,
Find strength within, rebuild what's been crushed.
No longer a captive to your empty words,
I'll find my worth, and fly like free birds.

So, farewell to the promises that were never true,
I'll reclaim my heart, bid my pain adieu.
This chapter ends, a new one begins,
For I refuse to let your games define my wins.
