Fast forward, I returned to Singapore and called up Ace to arrange a meeting. He informed me that he was going to party at a KTV with his friends and invited me to join him. Although I wasn't particularly interested in KTV, I agreed to go for Ace's sake but made it clear that I wouldn't stay long.

As night fell and it reached 10pm, I arrived at the KTV at Parklane, where I met Ace and his friends.

Ace: Nurgle! Welcome back!

Nurgle: Hey buddy. Happy birthday! I've got two gifts for you. One... a fresh box of...

Ace: CIGARS! I love you deep deep!

Me: Two... this. Open it when you get home. Please... don't open it here. Spare yourself the embarrassment

Ace: Fuck man! Something funny for sure! Come on, let's drink and sing!

Me: Um, I'll pass if you don't mind. You know I'm not really into this place

Ace: WHY?! I thought you liked it here because of you and Rose... oh...

Me: Yes, bro. That's why

Ace: I understand. But I've already booked a room here and arranged for some girls to come

Me: I'm fine. I just wanted to give you those items. We can meet again another time

Ace: Okay! Back in the office! Oh, by the way, Pris isn't doing very well

That caught my attention.

Me: What happened?

Ace: Do you have 10 minutes? Let's go light one of these babies up and I'll fill you in

With that, we left the KTV for a while and went to the ground floor to talk.

Ace: She hasn't been meeting the sales quota for the past two months since joining the sales team. She's feeling sad and depressed, afraid that she'll lose the team's faith in her

Me: And you know all this because...

Ace: Wah lao! I'm the IT guy! I go to every department, so I know everything!

Me: And you heard that from...

Ace: Kelvin, the sales manager, talked to Pris about it, and I saw her facial expression

Me: I see. Kelvin hasn't approached me or told me anything about it

Ace: You know Kelvin is afraid of you. He sees you as an enemy in the company, do you think he'll tell you?

Me: Good point. Let me see how I can talk to Pris, can't let her know about "the walls having ears"

Ace: Yeah, you do that

Me: I better get going, enjoy yourself, and don't drink and drive!

Ace: More like caps on and bang all the girls!

We laughed and went our separate ways.

It was Christmas, and I decided to give Pris a call.

Me: Hi Pris, any plans for Christmas today?

Pris: Nurgle! I'm actually meeting a friend for lunch. Do you want to join us? I can introduce her to you, maybe you'll fall for her? Haha!

Me: Um, that's fine. I was thinking of meeting you to give you a little gift I got from Australia

Pris: Awww! You shouldn't have! Look, I'd like to invite you to join me and my friend. Please come and meet us at Tampines! We're going to Swensen's! Please come, for me?

Me: Okay, fine. Let me pick you up at your place

Pris: That's alright. I'm actually with my friend now. Just come to Tampines and meet us

Me: I'll call you when I arrive

With that, I got dressed, prepared the gift, and left the house. I arrived at Tampines Swensen's and saw Pris waving at me with her friend, who had her back turned.

Me: Hi Pris. Merry Christmas

Pris: Hey Nurgle! Merry Christmas to you! Oh, and this is my friend...

Me: Sue! What brings you here?

I swear the world we live in is so small. Honestly, I was surprised to learn that Sue and Pris were friends when Pris was an intern at Sue's company. Pris was surprised to learn that I had met Sue in Melbourne and to hear about what happened.

Sue: Pris... Nurgle is your boss?

Pris: He was my boss, now I've moved to another department

Sue: Ah... but the department head doesn't like...

"Sshhhhh!" staring at Sue.

Sue: Oh! I'm sorry

Me: Doesn't like what?

Pris: Kelvin... he, um... doesn't like...

Me: He doesn't like me, right? Nothing new. It's old news. Let's put all the negative things aside for today. It's Christmas. Let's eat. And lunch is on me. So ladies, please choose your order

We had a feast. I ordered too many side dishes, and Pris slapped my arm so hard. After the meal, I offered to send Sue back, but she lived near Tampines, so she decided to walk.

Sue: Thanks for lunch, Nurgle. And thank you, Pris, for the support that I needed. You're right though. That is one big fish worth catching, remember to feed the fish well and change its water frequently

Pris: I sure will

Me: Fish? What fish?

"Nothing!" as both of them giggled.

We bid farewell to Sue, and I sent Pris home.

Pris: Thanks for the lunch and the present, can I open it now?

Me: I believe in tradition. Please open it tomorrow on Boxing Day

"Not fair!" she pouted and folded her arms.

Me: Now, now, be good, or else Santa will give you a lump of coal instead

Pris: Oh? And is Santa's lump of coal all white, warm, and sticky to the touch?

I almost hit the e-brake and looked at her with wide eyes.

Pris: Hahaha! Caught you! You naughty, pervy Santa!

Me: That wasn't nice

Pris: Oh, I'm sorry. I just had to pull your leg. I bet you actually let out your coal with Sue in Melbourne eh?

Me: No... I just met her there at the cafe and did what we said at Swensen's

Pris: Oh ho ho? No hanky panky?

Me: None at all

Pris: And why not? Sue looks wonderful and sexy! Any guy would want to fuck her!

I started feeling a little annoyed and upset at her comments.

Me: I am not so low as to think of Sue as a sex object, even though she looks pretty. Moreover, she needed someone for support rather than sex, right?

Pris: You don't know how horny Sue can be. You should have taken your chance with her!

"I will not..." I was starting to get angry at this point.

Pris: Why not? She has bigger breasts than me. She is taller. She is sexier. She is...

Me: She is not you! You were on my mind all along!

I snapped and stopped the car. I felt awful.

Me: Look, Pris. I'm sorry... I...

Pris: Please drive... to your house

The drive back was quiet. It was awful. Fuck.
