Peter's POV:
I can feel the cool breeze through my latex suit as I swing through the streets of New York, patrolling and looking out for crime or danger.

My thoughts wonder back to my childhood, as an unprotected, vulnerable child, I can't remember anything about my parents, other than the love I felt for them, at least before they died. I was adopted by my only living relative, Aunt May, I never loved her, and hardly ever saw her, she was usually at work or busy doing something, she was not really a parental figure to me but she did provide me with food, water a place to live and when I needed her she was able to help calm me down or fix me up.

On birthdays or Christmas we would celebrate together, she got me presents and made my favourite foods, we would decorate and act like a family, I always appreciated her and am grateful for her, but never saw her as a parent. I had a pretty good life to be honest, aside from my parents dying when I was 4.

I loved my parents but I don't miss them much, and I didn't love Aunt May but I miss her and Uncle Ben, he died when I was 6 or 7, Aunt May died in a car crash when I was 13, I was sick that day but insisted on going to school (nerd I know), she died on her way to work after dropping me off, she usually went to work, and I walked to school, but because I was sick (and also late) she drove me that day, I still feel like it is my fault, if I had listened and stayed home, this would never have happened.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts by a painful throbbing at the back of my skull, my spidey-sense, it always protects me and warns me when danger is near, even if I'm not in danger, if someone important to me is in danger or if something bad happens in general, if its near me, the spidey-sense kicks in. I round the corner to see 9 armed men/women robbing a bank, I crawl upside-down on the roof until I'm just above the back of the group, I shoot down 2 webs, one catches the person nearest to me, while the other blocks her gun, I quickly web their mouth shut and do the same to the others. I continue patrolling until about 9 at night.

I head to the window of Avenger Tower, knock on the glass, and Tony Stark opens the window for me.

Tony's POV:
I see Spidey land on the window, I laugh when he starts crawling around, I open the window for him saying "How was patrol tonight" I was shocked to hear his answer "eh it was pretty quiet for a while but then a stopped 2 bank robberies, stopped a gang of guys from harassing a woman, saved a 4 year old from a rooftop, I don't even know how she got up there to be honest..." he continued casually listing heroic actions as though they were nothing, this was all in one night, he saved dozens of people in a few hours "Spidey stop." I said suddenly, he seemed surprised of my interruption "What's up?" he said "Did you do all this in ONE night?!" "...yea? Why?" he seemed confused so I explained

"Kid you saved dozens of people tonight-"

"That's what superheroes do, I'm not doing anything special"

"Look kid, you saved dozens of people, stopped 2 bank robberies, and did tonnes of other stuff, in under three hours AND you did it with little to no violence. That's more then I can say for most of the team in an entire YEAR"

he was ~shooketh~

"But I thought our job is to save people and make the world a better place" {a/n I hate authors notes in the middle of stories but I want to say, peter is right in this story, its not just up to the superheroes to make the world a better place, either}

"and it is" I say "you just never let anyone or anything stop you from doing the RIGHT thing, not what you want or even what you need, I read your files kiddo, and it seems to me like you would throw yourself under the bus to save an innocent person. THAT is incredible"

Peter's POV:
I had always thought that heroes just do good, until tonight I never really gave any thought to how being a superhero worked, it was always just "do good and stop the bad people" I swing home, Aunt May's old apartment, and flop down on the bed, I pull out my phone and check the time: 11:37 pm, thank Loki it's Friday.

__________

I wake up to get breakfast, I can cook, quite well actually, because I have been cooking for myself for years, even before my parents died. I would always help them out in the kitchen, learning new recipes, ingredients, words and measurements. I'm too lazy to cook now though, so I just re-heat leftover fries.

I pick up my phone to check the time, 11:48, I end up getting distracted and scrolling on social media until my phone buzzes.

Mr Stark

Hi Spidey, do you want to come to the tower today?

We are all hanging out on the avengers floor

 Me

yea sure, see u soon

I quickly throw on my Spiderman suit, and swing to the tower, it only takes a few minutes before I land on the window, knock on the glass and crawl around in circles until Ironman lets me in.

I see the avengers, most in normal clothes, sitting on the couches, I see Black Widow talking to Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, Mr Stark returned to his conversation with my other favourite scientist aka Bruce Banner, Thor and Loki are fighting about something while Captain America and The Winter Soldier had a conversation, sitting on the floor for some reason. I notice that Hawkeye isn't around, so I look up and sure enough, he's people watching from the vents.
