Chapter Three
Kelly's POV"Hey, there's a party tonight, you wanna go? You can sleep over tonight; my parents aren't going to be home." Emma smiles widely at me before taking a bite of her sandwich.
We're sitting at lunch, eating outside because it's nice out and we can.
I shrug. "Sure. Why not?"
"Yes! I'm so excited. Apparently everyone is invited. And I'm looking for a guy to go out with anyway. You should totally look for a guy to go out with, too! It's senior year and we need to do stuff we don't usually do in high school so it's memorable." She says.
"That's a lot to say altogether." I say and she laughs. "But no, I don't really have anyone in mind that I'd like to date, and yes we need to do stuff that we normally don't do."
"I can't wait!" She squeals in happiness just as the bell rings. "Meet me after school!"
"Do I ever not?" I laugh and wave to her as she walks in the opposite direction when we get in the school.
Today, unlike a couple days ago, has gone by smoothly. It might be because Sam hasn't been in school since the first day, or it might just be because I'm doing well for the first week and it's Friday.
Either way, I don't really mind.
I quickly grab my things from my locker when I see a shadow appear next to me. I look and see him.
"I thought you were still sick." I say distastefully.
"Well I'm not sick anymore." Sam smirks.
"Get away from me! You might get me sick and I don't exactly want to get sick when I'm going out tonight." I say, but wish that I didn't explain.
"Ooh, like I care what you're doing tonight. And I'm not going to get you sick. But I might make you late to class if you keep fucking talking to me." He says as he puts in his combination angrily.
I close my locker door and jog away, getting nothing else from Sam, surprisingly, and get to my next class in time.
The rest of the day flies by. Even psych is pretty fast. Sam didn't do anything to me during that period and I'm very thankful for that.
He must've gotten in trouble for wearing normal clothes and riding into school without a helmet, as I suppose he did today again, which made him stop being such an asshole.
I walk down the hallway at the end of the day and make it to my locker before Sam and quickly grab all of my things before he even steps foot near his locker.
Satisfied, I make my way to Emma's locker. She flips her long blonde hair and smiles. "Ready to try something new tonight?" She's so happy it's easy to tell that it's hard for her to conceal it.
"Of course!" I smile. "We'll have to stop at my place so I can find an outfit for tonight and pack for tonight and then we can go to your place."
"Sounds like a plan." Emma closes her locker and links her arm with mine just as we tend to do while walking together. It's natural for us.
We walk out of school together and make our way to her car, this time we don't see Sam anywhere and once again I'm thankful.
"Why do you look so relieved?" Emma asks, raising a perfect eyebrow.
"Because ever since the first day, Sam's been leaving me alone." I smile.
Emma claps in happiness. "I told you that if you just ignored him he'd eventually leave you alone!"
