When the girl heard the words through her phone she couldn't quite believe it. The words barely reached her, she still questioned if she was dreaming or if this could be really true.
It was true.
The 20- year old would start in the Womens Ski Alpin Worldcup next season. After dreaming about this day since she was a kid, all her hard work finally paid off.
But not only for Sophia did the word fit perfectly, media and fans went crazy over the news. Hundreds of articles surrounding the new Skier published in just a matter of hours. Sophias phone blew up, notifications appearing within seconds and varying between friends, social media, her team and articles. By being called up to the Austrian team, she would now be the youngest starter in the upcoming season. This naturally gave the media plenty of new things, or more like a new person, to talk about.
For the past years, Schwab started in various small races, mostly local ones. As a result, she had already achieved many victories and podiums, but compared to the races and the routes she was now to race, she was completely inexperienced.
Despite all the anticipation and pride, she felt nervous. Will she be good enough? What will the others think of her?
