annalisa's pov
"now I'm gonna warn you. mom can be a bit lovey, if you know what I mean." dylan explained.
I nodded and smiled for what seemed like the 50th time since I met him. how could I not?! dylan freaking dauzat wants to hang out with me! I think I've done pretty good so far about not freaking the fuck out. dylan dauzat is my neighbor. okay.
he led me to the kitchen, where a woman, his mother I assumed, stood doing the dishes.
"mom. this is our neighbor, annalisa. anna, this is my mom." he introduced us.
"it's real nice to meet you, mrs. dauzat." I smiled, sticking out a hand for her to shake.
she pushed my hand away and wrapped her arms around me, tightly. she pulled away and held my shoulders.
"you're so cute. isn't she precious dylan?" she gushed.
"mom!" dylan exclaimed loudly, taking my hand and pulling me down some stairs.
"I'm sorry about her. she's a little unpredictable." he chuckled, still holding onto my small hand.
"that's alright." I giggled.
he plopped down on the large couch and patted the place beside him.
"don't be shy around me." he said as I sat beside him.
I giggled and he threw his arm around me.
"so where ya from?" he said, smiling like an idiot.
"I'm from a small town in Tennessee. Houston County." I said, leaning into him.
"oh that's really cool. are y'all liking it here in Louisiana so far?" he asked.
"actually yes. I love it." I said, looking up at him.
"you have beautiful eyes." he blurted.
I blushed and looked away.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said-" I raised a finger and cut him off.
"thanks." I giggled, standing up and turning to him.
"so are we just gonna sit here all night or are we going swimming?" I laughed, holding out my hand to him.
"let's do it. you can change in the bathroom. I'll change in my room." he said, taking hold of my hand, directing me to the bathroom.
"cool, see ya in a sec." I said, closing the door. I looked in the mirror and pulled my hair down. it fell into natural curls and I shook it out quickly. Trying to dress myself quickly, I ripped off my shirt and attempted to tie the back of the bathing suit myself.
