It's been a few days since you got back to the Orphanage, and you've noticed Ms.Thornberry has been receiving and sending an usual amount of mail lately. She also seemed to be a bit more chipper as well do to them.
Breakfast had just finished, and you and a few other of the children were helping Ms. Thornberry clean up. You were carrying a large stack of plates over to sink. The stack was wobbling precariously, and you had trouble seeing where you were going. You almost tripped at one point, but Ms.Thornberry was quick to rush over.
"Oh! Careful there dearie!" She called out worriedly, and she helped to balance the stack of dishes.
"I got it, Ms.Thornberry!" You reassured her.
"Now, we talked about you biting of more then you can chew. Don't push yourself too much dear. Let me help." She scolded you gently, taking the top half of your dish stack from you.
"Sorry, Ms.Thornberry." You apologized sheepishly.
The two of you took the plates to the sink, where a couple other children were washing dishes. Free if your piles, Ms.Thornberry turned you.
"Thank you dear. Would you mind getting the mail the for me?" She asked.
You nodded, and made your way out of the front door of the orphanage. You made your way through the courtyard, and out the front gates. The mail box was right outside, and you opened. A stack of letters sat insidem you reached in to grab them. As soon as your hand touched the letters, darkness blinded your vision. Your head became fuzzy, an an image of an old man with a really long beard. Suddenly you heard a voice calling your name, and teg the image faded. All at once your mind cleared, and you were back at the mailbox, the stack of letters in hand.
"Is everything alright dear?" Called out Ms.Thornberry.
Startled, you flinched, and quickly turned around. She was standing just inside the gates, a worried look on her wrinkled face.
"Huh?" You breathed out, a bit disoriented still.
"You were taking quite a while, so I came to check on you dear. And you were just standing there, like in a trance. Did something happen?" She ask concerned.
"Uh, Just dizzy I guess." You lied akwardly.
She narrowed her eyes a bit, not entirely believing you.
"Well if you're sure. Take it easy for a bit. Don't want you fainting on us, dearie." She suggested kindly.
"I will. Thanks, Ms. Thornberry." You said with a nod.
You handed her the stack of letters. You noticed a familiar name on the top letter, a name that's been on quite a few letters lately. Albus Dumbledore. She was quick to usher you back through the gates, and inside the orphanage. You decided to head back up to your room, and rest up like advised.
You felt a little guilty for lying to Ms.Thornberry, but you didn't want to worry her when she already worried enough about you. And besides, you didn't even understand what happened yourself. Just another of the stange things that always seemed to happen around you.
Time passed, and it was now evening. You had spent the day in your room reading. The few books you had were well worn, but the one currently in your hands was newer. The Johnson family had gotten it for you as a welcoming gift your first week there. It was a Natural Geographic Animal Encyclopedia. It had photos and information on 2 500 animals. It's become one of your favorite books, and you've only reached the letter K so far. You reading was interrupted by a knock on your door.
"Come in." You called out.
The door opened to a smiling Ms.Thornberry. She seemed eager, with an excited spark in her eyes.
