For the next few days, Henry couldn't reply to that text. He wanted to say 'yes' cause obviously he did! But for some reason something was telling him not to... Patrick started avoiding Henry Everywhere they'd go; everyone was confused. Henry scowled  whenever someone even tried to confront him about it, knowing it was probably his fault after all. He'd respond with 'Shut up', 'Mind your business', 'Get the fuck away from me', or something that would make the others confused more.

Henry was starting to come out less, occasionally stealing his fathers beer and drinking some. 3 months have passed since then, he never responded, but he so deeply wanted to. He knew that if this went on for any longer Patrick wouldn't even bear to look him in his eyes anymore, thats not what he needed. Thats not what he wanted. Nor did he want Patrick to hate him for the rest of his godforsaken life.

"Pa—" Henry cut himself off, he knew what he was about to say. That nickname. The nickname he overused and got used to. "Patrick." Henry mumbled, shifting uncomfortably next to his possible ex. "What do you want Henry." Patrick's voice was bitter and self-restraining as they sat in Henry's room.

The tension was almost suffocating, making Henry almost choke on his words. "I-I don't..I.." He stuttered hesitantly over his words, he wanted to speak, he so desperately did. So why couldn't he?...

"Why the hell would you bring me here for if you're not gonna say anything Bowers?" Patrick spat, his voice boiling with the anger he tried to restrain.

"Patrick, I don't think we should be together...I know-" Henry was cut off by a loud voice, filled with annoyance and brittled with hatred. "I waited 3 MONTHS! 3 fucking months and I get a 'oh, I don't think we're made for each other'!? Where the fuck did I go wrong Henry!? Where?!" Patrick has never yelled at Henry this loud before, certainly he's yelled at him, but this time, it felt different.

It felt like Henry knew Patrick wanted to break down and beg him to stay, which he did, but he refused himself to do so. "I just don't think it's right!" Henry argued back with the other, trying to stand up for what he thought was the 'correct' option. "I love you Henry! I know you probably hear that from girls at school, from other people, but I love you. More than I have ever loved anyone else! It's not because you're incredibly handsome, your body, or anything like that! I like you because I can understand you! I don't understand what troubles you're going through but I can help you!.." Patrick's eyes started to prick with tears, so did Henry's. "But I can't help you if you don't tell me whats wrong.." His voice cracked, he was trying to stay calm. He wanted to stay calm, but he couldn't. He couldn't stop himself from crying.

Henry's throat tightened even more at the sight of Patrick out of all people, crying. He wanted to say 'sorry' and hug him, but...why? It would just drag him into a deeper pit than he already is, it upset him but he felt the need to not throw himself a way for some boy. "No." He simply replied to Patrick's heartfelt words, how much pain he could see in his now ex palpable.

"I can't waste anymore time on some lover boy who thinks I'd throw myself away for some kind of forbidden love, I'm not a freak. So if you want me to really love you, get the hell out of my house, freak." Henry knew once he released those very words, he wouldn't be able to take them back. They already fell from him lips; a natural instinct.

"Lover Boy!? You know what?! You're hopeless! I feel bad for anyone who even dared to ask you out! You're a fucking wreck because of your piece of shit father, and you can't seem to get that through your thick skull!" Patrick was partially right, Henry did know that, but he never dared to admit it to anyone else. Patrick read him easily though, and it broke him even more for Patrick to say all that. "Get the fuck out." Henry's voice boiled, cracking with sadness and anger. "What?" Patrick was surprised at his words, his entire body pausing. "I said get the fuck out Patrick!" Henry yelled out.
