"Well? What are you guys waiting for? Go talk to them or you'll be owing me money!" Jeff urges Kyle and I, practically pushing us out of our seats.

"Ohh, this is gonna be so much fun!" Kyle tells us as he starts making his way toward the bar to where his 'girl' is.

I get up to start making my way towards my green eyed beauty, but stop when I hear Jeff speak behind me. "Let's see if you can actually win this bet, Payne. She seems a little...difficult, to me."

I scoff at his remark. "Please, Jeff. When have I ever lost a bet?" I say to him as I start walking away again.

Before I get to her, I can tell she's in some heated argument with whoever's on the other line. I'm not sure if I should interrupt her since I want to make a good impression on her, aside from our past encounter fifteen minutes ago. I get closer to her, hoping to catch her attention without interrupting her phone call.

"-I told you I'd be out with friends tonight. Yes...I know I shouldn't drink. Mom! I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be!..You know what, I'll talk to you later." And with that she ends her call, closing her eyes while leaning on the wall behind her.

"Overprotective parents?" She opens her eyes, startled by my sudden presence.

"Um, yeah. Something like that." She says, eyeing me cautiously. "Mind telling me how long you've been standing there?"

Sassy. Didn't think she'd be like that when all she was doing before was apologizing to me for her drunken friends actions.

"Don't worry, didn't hear anything I wasn't supposed to." I say to her, putting my arms up in defense. "At least I don't think I did."

She lets out a heavy sigh while pushing herself off of the wall to get closer to me. "Sorry, it's just that I didn't expect to see you there. Did you need something?"

I take a good look at her now that it's just the two of us. She's a few inches shorter than I am in her heels, just below my nose. As if I didn't think her eyes were green enough, the lighting above us seems to make her them even more enchanting. Though, I can't help but notice the bags under her eyes as if she hasn't gotten much sleep lately.

"No, I just saw you standing over here by yourself so I thought to myself, why not go and properly introduce myself to the beauty?" I respond, using my charm that never seems to fail me.

She blushes at my compliment, looking at her feet before facing me again. "Annabella Ryder." She tells me, extending her hand out for me to take.

"Liam Payne." I say, taking her hand in mine. I look down at our interlocking hands, taking notice about how small her hand looks in mine. It almost made me feel warm inside.

Almost.

"So," I begin, bringing my hand back to my side, "I heard you don't drink, so mind if I buy you another type of beverage?"

She lets out a small giggle, starting to walk towards the bar. "A lemonade would be great, thanks." And with that I start following her like a lost puppy.

She takes a seat on the opposite side of the bar from where all of her friends are. I look at them, watching how Kyle has his arm around the brunette Jeff bet him with. She seems to be having a good time with him.

"What can I get you two?" A blonde male bartender asks us. He seems to take a liking towards Annabella, though, since he hasn't once bothered to look at me.

"We'll both have lemonade." I bluntly respond, hoping he takes the hint for him to leave. He does, as he just nods at us walking back to get our drinks.
