'KNOCK KNOCK'

Was the only thing I heard at the door,

"Hey, come in,"

I led him into the dance room so we could get started

"What song are we covering?" I asked. Apparently, we were fliying out tonight, around 4am, to go to New york and perform in time square, and today is the practice for all of it,

Very last minute, yes

"Whichever song you choose"

"Kk, how about 'west side'-Ariana Gande?"

"I have to listen to it, but yea, sure"

It feels like my legs are gonna fall off. This dance is literally all foot work:(

Niki noticed my tiredness and handed me one of the waterbottles that were near him, I could tell he was out of breath as well.

We decided with this dance cover that there was gonna be LOTS of eye contact, so both of us were awkwarly laughing the whole time.

He opened the water bottle and handed it to me

"Thank you, riki."

'Shit, I forgot he goes by niki'

"Riki?"

"Sorry it slipped. Do you wanna go get ramen?" I asked him, just to distract him from the fact i called him a nickname only his family gives him.

I lived near a ramen place we could just walk to

I never have food in my house anyway

"Yea, sure,"

<Niki pov> - past to the start of practice -
I knocked on her door. Damn. This is scary, I've never been to a girls house. She also said she lives alone, which makes it more awkward

I saw some of the covers she has for songs, she is really good. I'm excited to work with her. She seems cool. According to co-workers, she has been asked multiple times to be a backup dancer for big groups

I mean, I have too, but like, to work with someone else who has been asked by big companies to be a backup dancer, is just crazy. We are just that good

No one has ever called me riki, unless it's my mom or sisters

I'm planning on asking if I could just stay the night tonight, so it was easier to go to the airport tomorrow. But damn is it scary, I don't wanna make it seem weird. How are you even supposed to approach the situation?

"Niki, you ready?" She asked me. I zoned out just thinking of asking. Why is it so nerve-racking anyway, I would probably sleep on the couch after all

"Yea sure, where are we going again?"

"Ramen? We're going on a walk right now to the ramen place near here. If that's ok with you, obviously."

"Oh yea, I forgot, sorry. I was gonna ask, tho...."

I took a pause cause, bitch, this is scary

"Can I stay the night at your house? I can sleep on the couch or something I dont mind. "

"Yea, sure, I don't mind. You can sleep wherever. but like, your clothes?"

"I was gonna ask if we could stop by my house? I don't think it's too far. "
