Y/n's POV
It was war between different gangs.. I don't know why, never knew why. Doesn't matter about the history about it, the only thing that matters is protecting my own kind. Not saying the wrong thing on the streets, if you do you get popped.
I was eight. I was sitting outside my house, on the stairs, waiting for the bus.... My brother was outside, Santiago. Cleaning his car, I smiled at him and he smiled back. I looked away for a minute... Heard gun shots, I looked up to see my dead brothers body on the ground laying there in his puddle of blood..
My dad came running out immediately after he heard the gunshots, he was yelling my name. He saw that I was okay, then he saw my brother on the ground. That's when my dad knew he needed to do something to protect our people, to protect the mother of his child, his little girl. Watching my brother get killed that day, killed something inside of me.
Police came banging at our door one day, my mother and I stood there, while I watched my dad get arrested for killing a bunch of assholes that killed my fucking brother... I visit my dad all the time after school to see how he is doing and if he needs more money in his account.
A couple of months later, I decided to get jumped in when I was eleven. I felt as that I needed to protect my people from those bitches. I'll keep my mouth shut for my people when they get into trouble, I'll protect them with my whole life even if that means I die on those street. If I get killed I want people to know my story.
I want change for my father, my brother. Rest In Peace Santiago Suarez.
