It was, as Mihir had expected, Rehan at the door.

Maan was with him, who, after exchanging a quick greeting with Mihir, wasted no time in running off to see his best friend.

"Careful," Rehan called as the boy basically ran up the stairs.

"Thank you for coming, Rehan," Mihir said. "I know you're really busy, so this mean a lot."

Rehan smiled at him. "Please Bhai, ab mujhe sharminda mat kijiye," he said. "Of course I would come."

Mihir was glad to hear it. He couldn't think of someone better than Rehan to handle this. He was a very smart-and feared-policeman. Despite his young age he was also very respected in the force.

"Ab kaisa hai Ayaan?" Rehan asked.

"He's doing good," Mihir replied. "No long term effects, thankfully."

Rehan nodded. "That's good to know." He looked at Mihir. "Before we go up bhai, why don't you tell me kya hua tha? I'll talk to Ayaan after that."

Mihir nodded. The two of them took a seat and he narrated the whole story to Rehan. Although there wasn't really that much to tell. It was just that he'd ordered the food, Ayaan had eaten it, and he'd got sick.

"App wahaa se frequently order karte hai, bhai?" Rehan inquired.

"Kind of, yeah," Mihir replied. "Agar Mai office Mai lunch kar raha hu to mostly wahi se mangata hu."

"Aur order aap Kai hi naam pe hota hai?"

"Hmm, mere naam pe hi."

Rehan looked thoughtful. "So whoever did this must know ki wo khaana aapke liye tha. Ayaan wasn't supposed to be there, right? You were the real target."

Mihir sighed and nodded. That was the obvious truth.

"Do you know anyone who'd want to do this, bhai?" Rehan asked. "Koi business rival, ya koi ex-employee or something..."

Mihir frowned in thought. "Aisa to...I don't think koi hai, Rehan. I mean, there are the Mehtas, jinse meri bilkul nahi banti, but I don't think they would poison me for it. Aur hamari unke saath deal bhi hone wali hai, they won't gain anything from hurting me."

"Okay...anyone else? Personal life Mai koi...?"

Mihir thought about it, but shook his head. "I can't really think of anyone. It's not like meri kisi se dushmani ya kuch bhi hai."

Rehan nodded. "Okay, bhai. I think that's it. Let's talk to Ayaan."

The two of them made their way upstairs, where they found Maan and Ayaan huddled together on the bed as they watched something on Maan's phone. They looked up as Mihir and Rehan entered.
