Chapter 2

AN:
Before I start this I just wanna say i'm am literally crying IRL because of how bad this writing is, no wayyy AO3 is begging me to finish this.

"One scoop vanilla strawberry with sugar cone and a three scoop blueberry, vanilla and mint with a waffle cone" I said to the worker at the Ice Cream stand before sitting down with Amaya and Connor.

"Greg you didn't want anything?"

"Oh no that's not it Amaya! I have a dental appointment tomorrow so I can't"

"Oh, okay then, so guys, what movie are we seeing tonight?" Amaya went on.

I mean technically I don't have a dental appointment, I just am not In a sugary mood, but Amaya wouldn't take 'not wanting ice cream' for an answer, I mean ice cream is like, my favorite dessert. I mean if they met my parents Amaya and Connor would know I'm fine financially wise- but I'm not very fond of that meetup happening.

Everything was all normal until.

"So then the cyborg tore off the cowboy's-" Amaya cut Connor off while he was talking about a comic he read.

"Greg look it's him!" Amaya shouted yet whispered at the same time. It's was Markus! No Lukas? Uhh I forgot, but he sure was there.

"We gotta get him back! Before he tries to prank us again" Amaya contested,

"Again? Wait- what did I miss!" Connor butted in.

"Oh yeah this morning that guy pranked us" I shrugged, it didn't bother me really, I was more confused on who he was rather than the joke.

"Hey classmates? What's up?" He came up to the three of us at the table which Amaya rolled her eyes to.

"Lukas, what do you want?" Amaya stared daggers at him.

"To talk to Greg, mhm" he said like he was answering her and himself.

wait...

Me?!?

"You wanna talk to me?" I sat up straight in my seat.

"That what's I said Li- I mean uh yeah that's what I said" I looked to Connor and Amaya confused but they both just shrugged.

"Okay uhh I'll catch you guys at the movie?" I followed this mystery kid not far but far enough from the table that Amaya and Connor couldn't hear.
He leaned against a tree and I all I did was hope he didn't just stab me or something which he didn't! whew

"So, Greg, you know what this is about right?"

"Uhh I'm not so sure I know, I don't even know you Markus?"

"Bingo, that's it, Gekko."

What- what just happened?!?

"What? You see a Gecko over here?" I said trying to sound amused but my voice just cracked.

"We live in the city, there's no lizards out here *just like how there's no queen of England... it's all a conspiracy* I'm talking about you being a superhero."

..Ohhh I get it. (No I don't)

"Wait? What do you mean? England is- wait- offtopic, so uhh what do you want."

"First of all, don't you wanna know how I figured it out?"

"Mhm, Okay spill the beans evil genius." I crossed my arms.

"R-really!! Yess I've been wanting to tell someone! First off, my name is Markus, but I only told you it that night in my moms store, today I said it was Lukas! So if you called me Markus we would have had met sooner!" He stood up straight and puffed out his chest in confidence.

I let it dwell on me for a minute, there's something missing from this story.

"Ohh so you're... Night Ninja?" I said more askingly then knowing, but I mean how else would he know I'm a hero?

"Oh, huh, I guess I didn't think that through. Well uhm yes." Markus slouched back and reached out his hand for me to shake. So I did.

"So, are those Catboy and Owlette?" he tilted his head

"No, we're smart enough to only hang out during the night."

"Hm, clever Lizard"

No, not clever, just a liar.

"That line only works if you're talking about a fox." I let go from the handshake.

"So, where does this leave us? I mean I won't tell your identity, that's petty." I feel myself smile faintly.

"Yeah, leave the petty crimes to me. I just wanted to give you my number, so we can stay in touch." he grabbed a pen and wrote on my wrist.

"There"

Huh, that's weird.

"Call me, bye!" Markus winked and walked off, so I walked back to Connor and Amaya assuming then went to the movie but the were still there waiting.

"So, what happened? Did he try to get you to turn against us in a huge prank war?" Connor asked while waving his hands for emphasis.

"Or worse! Did he try to beat you up?" Amaya followed.

"No he just gave me this" I showed them my wrist which had the number on it.

They looked at each other then at me then each other silently before giggling.

"Hey guys what's so funny?" I tilted my head which made both of them laugh harder.

"Let just head to the movie now." Connor said as both he and Amaya got up, so we did, I mean my friends laugh at stuff that flies over my head all the time, so I wasn't too worried about it.

This is actually peak writing for this fanfiction, it only goes downhill from here (not really)
