A curse of (retelling of) Cinderella

Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, there lived a young girl named Ella. Ella's mother had passed away when she was very young, and her father, a kind and loving man, eventually remarried. His new wife, lady Tremaine, was a cold and distant woman who had two daughters of her own, Anastasia and Drizella. Ella did her best to get along with her new family, but it was not an easy task.

One day, Ella's father left to conduct business in a distant land, and shortly after, he fell ill and passed away. With her father gone, Ella's stepmother and stepsisters showed their true colors, treating her as nothing more than a servant in her own home.

Despite their cruelty, Ella remained kind and resilient, finding solace in the company of the wildlife that surrounded their estate. She often took walks in the woods, finding peace in the beauty of nature and the songs of the birds.

One day, an invitation arrived at their home, announcing a grand ball to be held at the palace. It was to be a lavish affair, with the prince in attendance, in search of a bride. Ella's stepsisters were thrilled at the prospect of attending, but Ella knew she would not be allowed to go. However, an unexpected ally appeared in the form of a mysterious old woman who revealed herself to be a fairy godmother.

With a wave of her hand and a sprinkle of magic, the fairy godmother transformed ordinary objects into extraordinary things. She turned a cursive glass slipper into an exquisite pair of sparkling glass slippers, an elegant gown, and a magnificent carriage for Ella to attend the ball.

Ella was overcome with gratitude as she set off for the palace in her enchanted carriage. Upon her arrival, every head turned as she entered the grand hall, her glass slippers glistening in the light. The prince was captivated by her grace and beauty, and they spent the entire evening dancing and getting to know each other.

As the clock struck midnight, Ella knew that her time at the ball was running out. With a heavy heart, she fled from the palace, leaving one of her glass slippers behind on the steps.

The prince, determined to find the mysterious maiden, searched the kingdom far and wide, using the glass slipper as a clue. When he arrived at Ella's home, her stepsisters tried to squeeze their feet into the delicate shoe, but it was too small for them.

Finally, it was Ella's turn to try on the slipper, and it fit her perfectly. The prince was overjoyed to have found his true love, and they were soon married in a grand ceremony at the palace.

Ella's kindness and resilience had won her the love of the prince, and she lived happily ever after, treasuring the cursive glass slipper that had brought her true love into her life.
