Mrs. Bloodworth, the principal of Briar Woods High School, called for an assembly during the last period of the school day. The students slowly made their way to seats and started talking to their friends. *tap* *tap* *tap* Mrs. Bloodworth tapped her long, bony fingers on the microphone which sat upon the podium on the stage. The students got silent.
"Good afternoon, everyone. Happy Friday," she began in a cheerful voice. "Many of you already know, but to keep rumors from flying around and getting out of control, I've called for this assembly. As of Monday, we will be joined by a handful of students from our night school program who have displayed good behavior. Some of these students are also new to this town, so they might have a hard time fitting in. So please, give them a warm welcome. Have a wonderful weekend, and we'll see you all Monday morning."
With that, the students got up and left swiftly, ready to enjoy their two-day break.
