I Need to Stop Writing About You

You wanted a fucking revolution
But you settled for the taste
Cheap beer and acceptance
Of the world you hate
Because damn you can't
Change it anyways
And maybe if you can puke out
all your regrets on the carpet
You would feel better about
The things you did and the
Things you didn't
But honey I'm not cleaning anymore
I don't care about the stains,
I don't care about the God you
Say deserted you in your sleep
I don't care about your $7 misery
That you drink till your crying and
Praying for someone else
To take your place
I don't care because I can taste
The war that's coming
And I never stopped fighting
Not even once, not even when I thought
you might be right
That all the blood and tears and scars
We're just our self destruction
Hidden under the name of change
I never stopped because I saw
A world on fire
The soldiers of ordinary life
Barefoot and smiling at the sky
You died in your battle against yourself
And didn't even live to see
Our war against the World
