The boy from his dreams

A painted bunny

(before the Krang invasion)

Leo has been having dreams of a bunny boy for a while now, but he's not so sure why that is. During video games, spending time with his dearest brothers, no matter what he's doing he can't get that boy out of his head.
But he wouldn't tell his brothers about it, as they would constantly tease him about it if he had told them.
"Helloo? Earth to Leon!"
A voice echos through his head as he snaps out of it.
Oh, he was overthinking again.
He turns to his youngest brother, Michelangelo.
"Sorry dude, what's up?"
"You promised you'd let me paint your shell today"
Leonardo thinks back to when he made his promise, and gently smiles.
"Oh yeah, you wanna do that now?"

Mikey paints a bunny on Leo's shell, along with other cute things.

(Present time, Krang Invasion)

Loud screeching, weapons clashing everywhere, Leo tries to stay focused, but how can he? Everywhere he turns there's a krang monster there, but he also needs to make sure his brothers are okay.
Mikey and Donnie cling together as they fight off krang aliens, while he and their new friend, Casey, try to kill as many aliens as possible.
He tries to control his breathing, sweat rolling down his forehead as he swings his sword at one of the aliens.
White flashes Leo's eyes as he blinks towards it, only to find a krangified bunny boy, wearing a blue, torn up uniform. He does a double take before the bunny attacks him, jumping onto the blue turtle.
"what the hell?" Leon thinks to himself as he stares at the krangified rabbit attacking him, but the longer he stares at him, the more he realizes.. that it's the same guy from his dreams. Leonardo tries to get a better look at him when Casey drags the rabbit away from Leo, forcefully pushing him towards the crowds of krang monsters.

"Wha?!-"
Leo is shocked before being helped up and being dragged away, only to see the krangified bunny being trampled over by the hoard of monsters coming at them.

But he has no time to think before the subway floor collapses beneath him and Casey, quickly realizing he's being separated from Mikey and Donnie as they fall down, their screams fading the deeper they fall.

During the time they have been stuck deep down, Casey and Leo talk as they find a way out.
"Jeez.. why was that rabbit.. mutant so strong? and why was he krangified.." Leo mutters as he looks everywhere for an exit. Casey is strangely silent the whole time, only his panting and breathing is heard.
Leon can feel Casey's eyes on him suddenly as he turns around to catch him staring.
"what? is there something on me?"

Again, Casey is silent, wiping a small tear off from his eye. "it's just... that guy, he- nevermind.."
Hm. Strange. Leo thought to himself as they find their way out, heading up in search of their older brother, Raph.

(Time skip, after the Krang invasion)

Leo is being squished by his brothers, although his entire body is sore and covered in injuries, he never wants to let go of his family ever again.
As they all reunite, Leo suddenly remembers that bunny boy from his dreams, who might be real.
He takes off running towards the abandoned subway, leaving his brothers confused before immediately following him.

After what felt like hours, he finally finds the boy, who was covered in dirt, scars, and very bad injuries, stuck underneath crumbles and a huge rock.
He gets Raph to lift the rocks as Leo picks the bunny up, getting a closer look at him before feeling his cheeks warm up.
"Raph, can we.. look after bunny boy"
Leo says as he turns to the red turtle, who immediately gives in, as he cannot help but feel pity for an injured mutant.

Back at their now messy lair, they set the boy in their medical room after getting most of the dust out of his fur.
They tend gently to his wounds and injuries, but he has not woken up this entire time, and Leo starts to worry.
"Leo.. can I talk to you for a minute.."
A voice appears from behind as Casey holds Leo's hand, leading him to a more private area.
"What's up, case?" Leon says as he leans on the wall, now covered in bandages.
"That rabbit.. um.. I don't know how to say this but, I know him."
"What? How?"
Leo immediately has a ton of questions, shocked by this.
"Wait, you're from the future- I mean the old future but still, how do you know that guy??"
Case is silent, desperately trying to hold back tears.
"He was... a friend," he couldn't bring himself to tell Leo the truth. "A very good friend of yours.."

That explains it, Leo thought.
"Wait, I get a cute bunny boy as just a friend?"
He mutters out loud, not realizing what he'd just said.
"Leon!" A voice yells through out the lair. Both Casey and Leo immediately run towards the voice, where Donnie is standing at the entrance of the medical room.
"Leo, that.. boy woke up. Don't try to flirt with him just because he's a bunny though."
Upon hearing those words come out of his twin's mouth, he speed-walks into the room to see the bunny boy sat up, quickly looking around confused as hell. "Where am I.." suddenly, Leo pats the boy's back which causes him to flinch.
"Kappa!" He yells before backing up. "Woah! Chill, dude! I won't hurt you!" Leo quickly says, trying to calm the boy down. Suddenly there's a long, awkward silence in the room.
"Soo.. what's your name?" The boy looks at him, slowly calming down "Usagi.. Yuichi usagi."

Yuichi usagi....
Leo repeats that name in his head. "Well, I'm the Leonardo Hamato! But- you can call me Leo.. if you'd like, carrot cakes." Leo flashes a wink at usagi, who stares at him confusingly.
"um.. where am I? I was with my friends and then-"
"Hey, hey calm down! take a deep breath.."
Leonardo attempts to comfort Usagi, slowly taking deep breaths with him to help calm him down.

From the entrance of the room, Casey is standing there, staring at them. "hm.. maybe they'll make it work in this timeline."

Hii this is my first fic(?) so please don't mind if my writing sucks lmao
Also I don't know if I should continue this or not since my life is busy and sucks rn but if anyone wants me to continue this I'll find the time to write more parts
