I'm in so much trouble.

Lord help me, what was I even thinking before agreeing to join my friends at this party? I am a socially awkward person, for the sake of heaven. I can't even walk into a store without feeling like strangling myself with the nearest rope-like objects. And here I am, standing with my best friends just so they don't have to come alone. Humble, aren't I?

"Aurora, you are really here? I can't believe my eyes." Lindsey, the host of the party, shrieks so loud that a few people turn to look at us despite the loud music going on. Great, now I have people's attention too. One can't ask for anything better in life.

"She wouldn't have if it's not for me practically begging on my knees, and for Easton to deny coming unless she is not." Caleb, my best friend aka the womanizer of our trio says as he wraps his arm around my shoulder. Well, not exactly a womanizer. But he kind of shagged half the university, including both male and female.

"Hands off, asshole." Easton, the other best friend immediately goes into defence mode along with smacking Caleb's arm away. He can be a real grump sometimes, well, except when he is with us. Easton has a reputation in the university for being cold, some even say that ice is less cold than him -which is an understatement, by the way.

"Why? She is my best friend as much as she is yours. If you get to touch her, I do too." Caleb tightens his arm around me.

"For a matter of fact, I don't go around screwing every hole that is available."

"You did not just say that you son of-"

"Guys! Don't fight in my party. She is both of your best friends." Lindsey breaks them apart before they rip each other off. Then she turns to me and grabs my shoulder, "Thank you for coming, Aurora. I'm glad to have you here, seriously."

I give her the best smile I can muster. She nods and walks away, leaving us to enjoy the party. I walk forward while Easton and Caleb continue to bicker behind me. My eyes gather as much as decoration in the room since this is the first time I've come to Lindsey's place. Though she is one of the most popular students at our university, no one is as kind as her, not even me. And that is one of the reasons that I've accepted the invitation of my friends to tag along with them -plus Caleb's almost getting on his knees.

My eyes take through the crowd, stilling on a very specific person; too specific for my liking. Logan Greene, the captain of the basketball team. The girls are ready to get on their knees and bark for him, and the boys, I rather not say it. In single words, everyone practically throws themselves over him, with only the exception of 10 or 20 students; and that is half of the one-fourth of the general ratio. Surprise-surprise!

But that is not the reason he is too specific for me. It is that though he has more than half the population of the university to hate, I somehow come under his radar pretty much every single time. I don't even know what wrong I've done to him, or which family of heirlooms of his was stolen by me. That is if I exclude that dropped my soup on his shirt on the very first day of my semester. But I don't think that results in the death penalty at the very least. Ever since then, there has been not a single day when he didn't taunt me for something. Whether it is the way I wear my uniform, my hairstyle, or my food choices. I have been the centre of his attention.

"What are you looking at?" Easton's voice drags me out of my mind. Instead of answering his question, I look around.

"Where is Caleb?" I ask.

"Where do you think he will be? He went off with Shelley Morgan." I chuckle at Easton's answer. Shelley is Caleb's on-and-off girlfriend. They hook up at a party one day, and then the next day they act like strangers until they meet at another party. This has been going on for months now, and we are accustomed to it.
