Part 17 : The Shadow and The Monster

Author's Pov:

A few days passed after the "couples" incident happened, and four of them went to school. Y/n went straight to the headmaster to talk about her attendance issues caused by her mother's illness. She had the letter signed by her mom and additionally, she also had the hospital bills. While she was talking to the headmaster, Taehyung was waiting for her, outside the principal's office. Jimin and Mimi were engaged in a work by their English literature professor. A girl walked towards the office room, where Taehyung was still waiting. She came in front of the office and halted when her eyes landed on him. She looked at the door, tried to push it once, and then eyed him again. She leaned against the wall beside the door and then cleared her voice while gaining Taehyung's attention. When Taehyung looked at her, she gave him a soft smile and asked, "Are you the next?" Taehyung just nodded his head in no without exchanging any words. The girl asked again, maintaining her smile, "Then... did you get punishment?" Taehyung brows raised a little as he replied, "No... what made you think that?" The girl made an 'O' and spoke, "I mean... you're standing here, for nothing?" Taehyung answered with a slightly annoyed voice, "I am waiting for my girlfriend..." as the girl muttered, "Typical annoying couple..." Taehyung was about to ask something, when the door of the office opened, and Y/n came out and walked straight to her boyfriend with a smile, while saying in a low tone, "He allowed me." Unlike till now, Taehyung's unbothered face showed an action seeing Y/n less worried as his lips curved up a little and he pulled her a little to him, totally forgetting the existence of the third one. Y/n's eyes winded as she lost her balance but managed to stay about two feet away from Taehyung. She hit lightly on his chest, saying, "We are outside the principal's office. Such a reckless guy you are..." 

Taehyung's smile grew a little wider than before hearing her warned voice. They were about to head out to their class, when the third voice, a female one rang, "Y/n?" Y/n startled and looked back to find a pair of hazel eyes staring at her, emotionless, from four feet distance. Seeing the owner of the voice, Y/n felt as if the time stopped. The owner of hazel eyes spoke again, "Y/n Walker..." her lips curved in a non-understandable smile, "We meet... finally..." Y/n felt a cold shiver run down from her spine hearing the girl's ice-cold, emotionless voice. The smile on her face turned into a wicked one with each word she spoke. "Long years, huh? How have you been, best friend?" Y/n felt as if her feet stuck on the ground, her brain lost the capability to form words and her voice lost the ability to speak. She managed to whisper, "Lisa!" 

Taehyung frowned his eyebrows and looked at Lisa first, and then at Y/n. The realization hit him. He knew that they'd meet anyway, same school, a few same subjects... yeah, he found out a little about the new girl; but he didn't expect it'd be this sooner. He held Y/n's hand and found it extremely cold.

Lisa took slow steps towards them. She slowly checked them out head to toe. A crooked smile formed again on her pink lips as she said, "Good to know that you remember my name, at least. I thought you'd run away after hearing me join in the same school as yours. But I must say, Walker, you are brave. You always have been. So... tell me, how is everything going? Seems like you've got a handsome guy... you know, it's been years since we caught up with each other." Y/n's breath hitched hearing her once best friend's icy tone. She tried to steady her voice, "Why are you here, Lisa?" Maintaining her posture Lisa replied, "Many reasons, actually. But one would be enough for you to know. We have a lot...lot to talk about. Besides, Dad wants me to study from here..." Y/n asked casually, "How is un... he doing?"

- Just living that life, you made for us... a few years ago. But thanks to God, he is healthy. Oops... I shouldn't have said that, right? I mean, you... you have the special ability to ruin everything good... Y/n, please... do not curse my dad this time...
