It had started to rain somewhere during the day and Victoria just hadn't noticed it, too busy trying to find things to do. Things to do, in order to take her mind off of the impending Pyske run that was happening right now.
Which was why when Griff saw the lone car pulling up after plenty more hours than they had actually thought that they would be staying out for, he was immediately shouting for Victoria and she came running.
Victoria saw that Connor was driving and she was narrowing her eyes at the sight of Jordan looking upset. "Griff, go inside." She ordered and Griff was looking up at her, before he must have read something in her face as he was walking inside of the house and he shut the door behind her.
Jordan got out of the car and she walked over to Victoria, wordlessly giving her a hug. At the action, Victoria felt pain ripping through her and she returned the hug tightly. "He's gone, isn't he?" Victoria asked quietly and Jordan shuddered, before she was nodding.
"You were right." Jordan whispered and Victoria tightened the hug. "You were right, we shouldn't have done this. We should have walked away when we had the chance, but now Tommy is dead." Jordan whispered and Victoria sighed. Jordan walked past her into the house and she was slamming the door behind her.
Victoria walked towards the car and she got into the passenger seat that Jordan had just vacated, shutting the door behind her to get out of the pouring rain and Connor looked over at her. His tears were falling and she was saying nothing. "I need a way out." Connor said quietly as she nodded, before she felt her own tears spilling out of her eyes.
Victoria felt a sudden wave of power and she got out of the car, recognizing it as Griff and now the kid was screaming. The entire house was shaking as he let out everything, from the grief and the shock of losing his older brother and finally, the shaking stopped.
Victoria moved her arms around him as Griff was sobbing, burying his head into her shirt as he cried and hiccupped, losing any semblance of control that he may have had. Connor came into the house and Griff threw Victoria to the side as he was attacking Connor fiercely.
"Griff, stop it!" Victoria shouted as Connor was taken off-guard by the teenager and Griff's swings were actually hitting something. "Stop it, NOW!" Victoria shouted and she grabbed him, yanking Griff off of Connor and he was yelling with fury still, but Jordan clamped bracelets and cuffs onto his wrists, so that she was able to yank him away from Connor quickly.
Griff was dragged out of the room by Jordan, who was using her powers so that he just didn't end up hurting her by accident or even on purpose. Victoria shook her head as she was walking into the kitchen to grab the first-aid kit.
"Are you okay?" Victoria asked as Connor was holding an ice pack against his head and he sighed, wincing at the pain in his head from Griff hitting him so hard.
"That kid hits hard, for a teenager." Connor muttered as his other ice pack wrapped in a towel was against his nose, which was bleeding from one of Griff's wild swings that had managed to actually connect. "Ow." He muttered and Victoria glanced at him.
"Hold still for a second." Victoria said and Connor lifted his eyebrows, before her eyes glowed brightly blue. Connor felt something weird shifting around as she was closing her eyes, as the glow of her eyes was getting brighter. Victoria opened her eyes and the glow faded, as Connor tried to figure out what felt different.
"Look in the mirror." Victoria said as she was grabbing herself a beer from the fridge and Connor got up, leaving the ice pack and towel that was on his nose, sitting on the table as he went to look in the mirror.
"What did you do?" Connor asked as he came back, with his nose no longer bleeding and she lifted her shoulders.
"I'm a Hydro, remember?" He wanted more of an explanation, as Victoria sighed. "Blood is liquid and I control liquid." She elaborated and she was tossing a beer to him as he caught it quickly. "I can use blood to keep things together, I could make it much worse if I really wanted to." Victoria pointed out as she drank some of her beer.
"So you managed to staunch the blood flowing from my nose, with your abilities somehow?" Connor clarified and silently, Victoria nodded. "Thanks." He said and she laughed lightly, before she shrugged.
"I don't really need you to be completely unconscious from blood loss right now." She said as Connor lifted his eyebrows. "What is the look for?" Victoria asked in confusion.
"Tommy told me before the job this morning, that your dad and Garrett said some things when you were younger, just about you." Connor said carefully as she looked at him, before she sighed, rubbing her temples.
"I knew that he would mention it at some point." Victoria muttered as she was looking down at the table. "Why the fuck do you even care, Connor?" She asked quietly and he was looking at her, before he sat down across from her at the table again.
"Because you and your little group are the only ones who are actively fighting against Pyske, even though you could actually make a bunch of money off of it." Connor drank from the beer. "Look, you are going against the grain. I just... You just seem like you are alone a lot of the time." He pointed out and she scoffed quietly.
"How much did he pay you to say all of that?" Victoria asked and Connor stared at her in disbelief, clearly stunned that she could actually think that. "I'm fine with being alone, Connor, it is basically a fact of life for somebody like me..."
"Because you're too afraid." Connor said as she was looking up at him, her eyes flashing and he was shaking his head. "You're too afraid to care, even to let yourself feel." He pointed out and she was clenching her fist tightly around the beer bottle, which was now starting to crunch from her grip.
"Stop." Victoria whispered quietly, barely speaking at all audibly.
"Ever since your brother left you behind, ever since your father decided to destroy all of your confidence," Connor was just getting warmed up, as Victoria's tears were starting to well up again.
"Stop." Victoria whispered slightly louder and the beer bottle in her hand was close to breaking completely.
"Ever since the Electric Gang tortured you and you lost your remaining family, which was moved to include whoever you lost the last time..."
"I said, STOP IT!" Victoria shouted as she slammed her fists down onto the table. The pipes burst as they were flooding the entire kitchen and most of the house was flooding from the force of it. Connor looked around at the flooded kitchen and then, he realized that he may have gone too far.
Victoria was crying with her face in her arms, resting against the table as Connor sighed quietly. "I'm sorry." He said and she was looking over at him, before she shook her head.
"Tommy wanted me to show emotions, right?" Victoria's voice was hoarse and she sounded tired, exhausted as Connor nodded slightly. "You think that is enough emotions?" She said as they were leaving the kitchen and Victoria looked up, seeing that Jordan and Griff were both soaking wet and standing at the top of the stairs.
"Which one of you is going to explain to us why the toilet and the sink burst in my face along with the pipes?" Jordan asked and Victoria sighed.
"Everyone should get some sleep, we will deal with this in the morning." Victoria said quietly as she walked out of the house, into the pouring rain.
