I wake up to the feeling of someone sitting next to me. My head is resting on something soft and warm. It didn't take long before I felt pain shoot up from my left leg. I crack open my eyes and realized I'm still in pitch black darkness. I lifted my head from where it had been resting, only to realize that I had fallen asleep on Gaege's shoulder and that currently Mully was sitting next to me. I stretch my back and roll my head to relieve some of the tightness of resting my head the way I had. After getting woken up decently I reach down to my ankle.
"This shit hurts so bad." I mumble aloud. I heard Mully chuckle, he rubbed my back and gave me a side hug.
"If you want, we'll take you to a hospital after we get out of here so you can get that checked out. With how swollen it is and was I'm surprised you were able to walk at all." I hummed in agreement. I turned my head and looked at Juicy, it was then that I noticed that the hoodie he'd been wearing all day was gone. It was only then that I realized that my leg was propped up. I grab his hoodie from beneath my leg and pass it back to him.
"You didn't have to do that. I know it's cold as fuck in here." He looked at me passively and gave a slight smile.
"Well, I had to elevate your ankle somehow. It was just easier to take my hoodie off." I frowned slightly,
"You could've just taken off my hoodie instead of making yourself cold." Gaege quirked an eyebrow.
"If I had done that, you would've been cold. I figured that you've been through enough tonight, you don't need to be cold too." I sigh and look back down at my watch. It was 5:30, it was then that I heard some footsteps getting closer. I looked where they were coming from, only to see everyone else coming into the room with what looked like gauze.
"Oh, you're awake now." I heard Eddie say as he walked towards me. He knelt down and started wrapping my ankle.
"Narrator said that we should wrap your ankle tight, so we went looking for something, seeing as this was a hospital." I winced and tried to pull my ankle.
"I can wait a little bit longer, so that I can have something clean on me. Thank you though, for thinking of me." I saw Eddie smile and start unwrapping my ankle. I do my best to use the wall to stand up. It was still sore, but I ignored it as best as I could. I began to inquire about anything else that happened that was paranormal. I was told that shortly after I left that all ghost activity basically stopped. It was honestly creepy, almost like I was a conduit for haunted shit. They started to tell me what I said and how it correlated to what they were asking. It wasn't a long conversation before we began to hear the jangling of keys.
"Thank God." I say as I try to hobble to the front door. I almost trip, thankfully Mully catches me and begins supporting my hobbling form. We make it outside and I take a deep breath of clean air. As I had stepped out, I felt like the heaviness that had been around me dissipated. I was helped into the van where the question came up on whether I wanted to go to a hospital. I decided that going is probably the best option. Hence the drive to the hospital. I pull my little camera out of my bag and open it to start recording.
"Hi guys, so scary video went okay. I have no idea what I've done to my ankle, but it hurts like a bitch. We are headed to the hospital now. I will give all of you an update after I figure out what's up." With that I stop my recording and close my camera. I lean my head back on the head rest. The pain was starting to cause a slight headache. I felt Josh rub my shoulder from the backseat and it helped a little bit, but maybe that's because it was a distraction.
"I'm sorry for the trouble guys. I really do wish I could've kept going." I practically hear the eye roll Eddie gives me.
"Muchacha, you did keep going. Most people would've tapped out when they hurt their ankle. Don't worry about it, plus you were told to leave explicitly." I bite my inner cheek and close my eyes.
I must've fallen asleep when I did, because I woke up at the hospital. Gaege shakes my shoulder gently and asks if I can walk in. I nod and open the door to get out of the van. I stand on my right leg and wait for him to get out. He slips his arm under mine and walks with me into the hospital. I'm hopping on my right leg and slowly make my way into the emergency room. He helps me to the front desk. I explain what happened to the lady at the front desk and hold out my card in order to pay for the service. I'm helped to the back by Gaege.
A nurse walks in and looks at me, then to Gaege. She elevates my leg on the bed and begins poking and prodding at my ankle. I guess she was looking for a break or something because she eventually said,
"Good news, your ankle is not broken, however, you more than likely have a sprained ankle." I nodded and followed her instructions as she told me to try and twist my ankle around. She asked me to try and stand and walk four steps forward without any support. I stand up and it hurts, but it's kind of bearable. I notice that Gaege has his arms out in case I do fall. I forced a smile at him and took all four steps somehow. The nurse nods and helps me sit down. She then walks out for a few seconds.
She comes back in with some bandages. She gets me to lift my leg up and begins wrapping the bandages tightly around my ankle.
"It may take about three weeks for your ankle to feel better. You should be fine," she walks over to Gaege and hands him some extra strength Tylenol, "Make sure that she takes these twice a day." He nods. The nurse turns back to look at me,
"You should be fine; your boyfriend here should be able to take care of you pretty easy." My face turns beet red.
"He's not my boyfriend." The nurse chuckles,
"Okay sweetie." She then walks out and lets us know we are free to go. Gaege and I made our way to the van where everyone else was waiting. I see their faces light up in relief. Gaege opens the door and gets in but stays there to help me get into the van. He takes out a Tylenol and passes me a bottle of water. I take the Tylenol and prepare for the ride back to San Antonio.
"(Y/N), I know that you have a hotel, but that's a long walk from there to my house. If you want, you can just stay with us for the rest of the trip?" Narrator says from the front of the van. I look down at my hands. I don't want to feel like a burden on everyone, but they invited me, so it should be fine, right?
"That's fine, I just have to get my stuff from my room and check out early." I leaned my head against the window and watched as cars passed us.
