You were only walking for about ten minutes when the nape of your neck started throbbing.
Ignorance truly is bliss – before you met that green haired swordsman, your only concern was the incline of this hike. But now that you're aware of the existence of deadly creatures, you can't stop yourself from continuously craning your neck in all directions.
As you ventured further up the mountain, your anxiety intensified. With less foliage, you felt like a sitting duck.
Perhaps to the benefit of being paranoid, when you heard some leaves rustle, you wasted no time running up the nearest tree. Looking down from above, you could see a cluster of scaly creatures emerging from the shadows, their eyes fixated on you. They were smaller than what you encountered earlier, almost wolf-like, moving in pack formation.
There was no survival handbook against whatever the hell those were.
The closest thing you could recall was the bear safety guide – make yourself large and loud.
You sprawled out your arms and started yelling profanities at the menacing creatures. Unfortunately, this seemed to have no effect, other than a few inquisitive glares from their slimy eyes.
They are different from bears, you noted.
Despite all the yelling, they closed in. Their scales shimmered with an unnatural gleam as they circled the base of the tree. As you looked down at your certain death, your camera dangled from your neck, heavier than ever before.
As a final act of defiance, you decided to document your last moments. With trembling hands, you captured images of the creatures, even as they started to scale the tree. Deep down, you hoped that Zoro would stumble upon your camera, and these images would warn future adventurers about the dangers of this island.
At least, then, your death would not be in vain.
