"Are we really doing this?" Jordan asked as she was standing by the front door and she was leaning against the wall, while Connor stood opposite her. "We are really trusting Garrett?" She pointed out.
"We aren't trusting anybody." Connor countered as he shook his head. "I don't trust Garrett and I sure as hell don't trust the cops that I went to. But, we needed a plan and I'm sure as fucking hell not letting Sutcliffe and Rhino get away with killing Tommy." He said and Jordan glanced up at him. "I'm not asking you to trust me on this, I can't ask that of you, but I'm just as angry at the Pyske runners as the rest of you are."
"If Victoria trusts you, then that is good enough for me." Jordan noted as she held out a hand and then, four knives came whizzing through the air and into her hands. Jordan put them away and she glanced over at him as she shook her head at the look on his face and she laughed humorlessly at it. "I don't do handshakes." Jordan said as she yawned loudly.
"Are we ready to go?" Victoria had silently appeared without them noticing her and she was easily catching the running shoes that Jordan tossed to her.
"We were waiting for you, for the first time ever." Jordan pointed as she was shaking her head. "Are you sure that you're ready for this?" Jordan asked.
"We aren't going to get a better chance at taking down Sutcliffe and Rhino. They will escape if we don't get them now." Connor stated.
"I wasn't asking you." Jordan pointed out coldly and she was staring at Connor, who got the memo as Jordan turned back around to look at Victoria. "Tori?" She asked, leaving no possible doubt in the air, about who she was talking to.
"Connor is right." Victoria finished with her shoes quickly. "We aren't ever going to get a better shot." At the words, Jordan nodded swiftly. "Even if it means working with my older brother, let's go." Victoria said as she was tossing the keys into the air and Connor caught them.
Victoria was now silently sitting in the passenger seat, since she always got car sick and Jordan was sitting in the back, messing with her knives.
"Are we picking targets?" Connor asked as he drove and now, Victoria was staring out of the window.
"Rhino, he's mine." Victoria said quietly to them, it was barely audible in fact, but they knew who she meant.
"I will protect Nia from any potential crossfire, since multiple people have all sorts of weapons now." Jordan stated and Victoria nodded. "I can block bullets and tear apart Guardians, Tori. We will be just fine." Jordan spoke with more confidence than she felt and Victoria said nothing, as she leaned against the window. "Are you alive over there?" Jordan asked as she poked Victoria in the arm and Victoria turned to look at her. "Yep, you're alive."
Jordan went into the garage first and Victoria was silently staring at the building and Connor got out of the car. "You might need help facing Rhino." Connor pointed out and she was shaking, she could see her hands as they trembled and she was swiftly clenching her hands into fists. "It's okay to be scared, you know." He said as she scoffed.
"For somebody who isn't the leader of a crew like you then yes, it's okay to be scared of something." Victoria said coldly. "But not for somebody who has to make plans, deal with the pressure, and is in charge of making sure that all of her family members get out safely. That is what I'm doing." She shook her head. "I don't have time for fear."
Connor caught her arm and Victoria felt a shock zipping through her and she winced at the zap. "Jordan would still follow you to the end of the earth, even if you showed her that you were scared." He pointed out as she was looking down. "The fact that you have been leading a crew since you were like 15 and that you have been helping people get out instead of bringing them in... That's just fucking crazy." Connor pointed out and she was shaking her head.
"But... It still will never be enough." Victoria said and she was pushing his hand off of her and Connor sighed in annoyance.
"Why can't you just admit that you have emotions?" Connor asked as she made her way towards the door. "Why can't you just admit that you are human too? That you can feel things like everybody else, but that you are just too scared to show it."
"Because the moment that I admit any of that to anybody, this whole fucking world loses the respect that they hold." Victoria said as her voice was harsh, cold and angry as she turned around to face him. "I grew up in this life and I barely got myself out of it alive. But oh wait..." Victoria shook her head again.
"Right! Here I am, being dragged back into it, yet again to help the person that my older brother figure, thought of as his best friend!" She snapped and Connor was staring at her. "It's your fault that I'm back in this, it was your plan that dragged Tommy back into this life and thanks to your plan and Garrett's greed, Tommy is dead and now I'm stuck in the aftermath of it!" She was finally done as her voice cracked with emotions and a bunch of pipes had burst underneath their feet, causing water to leak through the new cracks in the concrete.
"You feel better?" Connor asked quietly as she stared at him before she was reluctantly nodding. "That was a lot of power." He said as Victoria was shaking her head.
"Class Five Hydro." She reminded him as they walked swiftly into the garage.
