'गोमती और गंगा'

April 2001, a bright sunny day in 'नवाबो का शहर' Lucknow.

"यहीं रुकियो अभी बाका लेके आते हैं फिर बताते हैं तोहके!"

"तू बाका लइयो और हम ईहा खड़े रहेंगे का? हमारे यहाँ भी बका है उहो बड़का वाला"

A a normal morning in Sapna Colony, there aren't many families that live here, maybe due to the friendly nature of the neighborhood. The Kewat family shifted here a few years back when Mr. Kewat who works in the electricity department got transferred from Sitapur. Mr. Kewat along with his wife and 2 children, Geeta and Rajiv live here.

"Why are you reading books? Your 12th board exams were over a few weeks ago. Take these 15rs and borrow a CD from Sansar Studio".

" Didi, knowledge is like गलौटी कबाब, no matter how much you consume, it's always less. Let me finish this then I'll bring a movie".

Later,

"Bhaiya, do you have any new English movies?"

"A cartoon movie Shrek released a few days ago-

"अमा यार, you too think I am a child? I cleared the 12th exams, I'll be in engineering college in a few weeks"

"but the movie is in heavy demand, I am sure you'll like it, it's in English too"

"fine, but if I didn't like this movie then you will refund me, okay?"
Rajiv smiled.

"I won't refund even if my father asks for it".

Rajiv's smile disappeared, and he returned home with the CD, hoping the movie wasn't bad.

"Alright then, see you later".

Rajiv exits the shop.

As Rajiv walked towards home, he reached 'The Auto Stand'.

"बुधेश्वर भैया बुधेश्वर"
said the auto-wala

Rajiv nodded and walked away,

"Charbagh-Charbagh"
shouted another.

Auto-rickshaws horning, auto wallas shouting, autos and people everywhere,
The auto stand is an annoying place to be if one doesn't want to take a rickshaw.

Near the parking area there's a tree, Rajiv notices a puppy, lying under the shady tree, a white puppy with black spots and big ears crying in pain.

"A rickshaw wala stepped on her leg with his rickshaw"
said the paanwala.

Rajiv wasted no time and took the little puppy home.

"I think I gave you money to borrow a CD, not a puppy!"
Geeta shouted.

"Stop shouting Didi! A rickshawala stepped on her leg, can we keep her until she is healthy? Please"
Both Rajiv and Puppy looked at Geeta with their glittering eyes, Geeta couldn't refuse. Rajiv used the same tactics on his mother and it worked.

Rajiv and Geeta took the puppy to the Vet, "she will be fine in 2 weeks", said the Vet.

All three reached home shortly.

"Now what should we name her?"

"Well, I thought about it on the way here and you see there are lots of Daisy flowers in our garden so what about 'Daisy' ?"

"Nice, I like it, Daisy"
Geeta replied.

"Can we watch the movie?"
Rajiv asked Geeta.

"I forgot to tell you but the CD player isn't working"
