When Marie first arrived at the X-Mansion, she was very shy and never wanted any physical contact with someone after she had accidentally put her boyfriend in a coma just from touching him, but there was always one person who didn't care about accidentally touching Marie.
That was Alice, who was a great mutant and very wise. She told Marie the first time they met that she doesn't care about her fear of physical contact because that's the reason she was there.
Alice made her touch her hand whenever she had to, and there was no in between. Whenever Marie touched her hand, she would feel such a powerful magic flow through her body that always disappeared almost immediately after.
Because of this, Marie became interested in learning more about Alice. Marie couldn't help but wonder about her so she went to Bobby. Marie asked, "Bobby, do you know why whenever I touch Alice, I gain her powers but they suddenly vanish?"
Bobby looked at her with confusion before responding, "I don't think I can answer that question, but I can tell you that Alice has been part of this school since its founding," he pointed at a portrait where Alice stood behind Xavier along with the other founders, her hands on Xavier's shoulders, "see that? That's Alice, she doesn't look a day older than her portrait. She's full of mysteries that not even Professor Xavier knows about."
Marie nodded, "how many secrets do you think she holds?" Bobby gave her a look of disbelief when she asked that, but he told her, "not even I know how many secrets she has, I only know a few. Like how she keeps a large sword hidden in the school, many have tried to find it because it's said that it holds all the secrets Alice contains in herself. None have succeeded so far."
Marie was surprised, but with this newfound information, she decided to join in the search for this large sword. Alice, though, was aware of the search for her sword, but she decided to let them have their fun searching for it.
"Alice, why don't you tell them the mysteries surrounding you?" Xavier asked while Alice looked out the window of his office, watching the kids all searching the entire school grounds for her sword. She softly smiled, "Xavier, you know I hide things even from you, right?"
He nodded, "I am aware, your mind is like a labyrinth that's impossible to find anything in." She turned to him and walked over to his desk, conveying, "yes, and there's a reason why I keep my mind a labyrinth."
Xavier smiled as he carefully wheeled his way over to her side. Xavier knew a little bit about Alice, that she was ten thousand years old and she was the most powerful mutant in all of history. Yet he knew that she was an enigma amongst every mutant.
Not because of her age or her powers, but rather because she seemed to know things about them before she even meets them. She says it's her premonitions, but he could tell that she knows them almost intimately and there's always a sad look hiding in her eyes when she looks at them.
He also remembered that there was a time when Alice kept calling Magneto, Max which was completely strange because it wasn't his name and she always apologised, saying that Max was a mutant with magnetic abilities like Magneto, but no matter how much he looked into the history of mutants in the world, he never found one with magnetic powers like Magneto.
This strange contradiction told him that there had to be more to Alice, more that she hides from the world that he cannot access. You know, now that he thought about Magneto, he was reminded about something else.
Xavier turned to look Alice in the eyes before telling her, "I met Erik when Jean Grey was giving her speech about mutants." Alice hummed, "really? Erik was there, I should've came along then."
Xavier mentioned, "I suspect he's planning something. Most definitely with the two new students." Alice nodded, "Marie and Logan, right?" Xavier gave her a confused look, "who is Logan?"
Alice stayed silent, but looked away from Xavier. He knew what that meant, she said something about the future unintentionally. He sighed, deciding to leave it alone and told her, "well, yes, those are the two I suspect something would happen to."
Alice nodded before she left off to be alone in her own room. Xavier wheeled over to the window and watched the students along with their thoughts. He was in shock as he realised that all of them seemed to be searching for Alice's hidden sword.
He figured that this would be tough on Alice.
