Life to Death

Have you ever thought of dying? When life gets hard, you want to die. When the world is harsh, you want to die. When you can't take it anymore, you want to die. But then, suddenly the word 'dying' turns into life. 

"Your daughter is diagnosed with Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy." a Doctor said.

Parents were terrified when they heard what the doctor said. They didn't want this to happen to their one and only daughter.

"Wh-what? Is my daughter going to have a normal life?" the mother asked.

"I can't say, Mrs. Gonzalez," Doctor replied.

 "WHY CAN'T YOU?!" Mrs. Gonzales roared. 

She was about to attack the doctor, but her husband held her and left the office.

"Honey, calm down," Mr. Gonzalez said.

"But Philip, our daughter" She cried out. 

"Shhh, I know, I know." He comforts his wife. 

After 18 years, they took care of their daughter, watching every move to avoid any bad things to happen. Their daughter was born talented, smart, and beautiful. 

"Mom! Dad! I'll get going!"  

"See you, sweetie! I will miss you!" 

"Always remember our words, ok?"

"See you when I see you! Noted, Dad!"

As the young woman left, her parents left standing in front of the door.

"Is this right?" the Mother said.

"I-I don't know, I just want her to be happy and explore the world." the Father replied.

As the young woman was walking, she looked around.

Living alone is my dream. Due to my condition, my parents spoiled me a lot. Life is not easy at all. I think this world hates me but can't do anything about that right? Also, I want to experience lov-

"Ouch!"

"Sorry, Miss! You okay?" 

She realized that she had bumped into someone, and she stood up and was about to apologize-

"Eli?"

"Huh?"

"Eleonore Vivianne Gonzales?"

"Ha?"

"It's me, Sebastian"

"Sebas...tian?" She asked.

"Yes! Do you remember me?" 'Sebastian' asked.

"Seba- Seb Seb?!"

"Yes!"

As they hugged each other, excitement rushed through Eli's veins, and suddenly she couldn't breathe properly.

"Eli? Eli! Inhale, inhale, exhale. I'm sorry, I forgot about your condition." Seb said.

"It's okay, I also forgot about it." Eli pantingly said.

"You forgot?" Seb chuckled.

"Yeah, got a problem?" she asked.

"Nothing. Where are going?" he replied.

"To my new house!"

Eli told Seb about her going to live alone. Seb was surprised to hear knowing her condition it's not advisable, he's happy for her though. They exchanged numbers and promised each other to text and meet each other again. Eli just finished showering when suddenly she heard her phone make a 'ting' sound.

Seb Seb: Hey! This is Sebastian.

Eli: Hi! Can I help you?

Seb Seb:  Wanna hang out?

Eli: Sure!

They hang out every time they go. Eventually, a love is starting to bloom in them. 

3 YEARS PASSED

-IN CALL-

"Love, I'm already here. Where are you?"

"I'm almost there."

"What are we going to do here anyway?"

"Love, patience. I'm here."

"Where?"

"Behind you"

She looked behind her and saw Sebastian. She was confused as to why Sebastian was kneeling.

"It's been 3 years, My love. I wish I could give you everything, but I hope that this ring is enough. Having you by my side is what completes me. I want to grow old with you. Will you marry me?" Sebastian proposed.

Eli was so happy to hear the message of Sebastian. 

"Ye-" 

Suddenly, she couldn't breathe properly and she collapsed.

"Eli? Eli! EL-" 

She can't hear his scream of despair of Sebastian.

Sebastian brought her to the hospital and the doctor announced her death.

"And that's the end of the story" 

"Eh? Why a sad ending? why not happy?" a young man said.

"Not everything is a happy ending you know" the young woman stated.

"Is that what they call "meeting early because they won't grow old at the same time?" or "right person but wrong time?" 

"Who knows, maybe both." an older version of Sebastian stated.
