I woke up, my gaze fixed on the ceiling before shifting to the alarm clock. It displayed 2:00am. Sleep had eluded me since the accident. Rising from bed, I reached for a picture of my father, flooding my mind with memories of him and how he treated my mother and me. With tears welling up in my eyes, I lay back down, still surrounded by darkness and staring at the dull, greyish-white ceiling. Hours passed and...

"Hey, Richard, get up and get ready for college!" my mother's voice echoed from downstairs.

I got out of bed and began changing into a red top, pairing it with a leather jacket and ripped jeans. I added some chains to complete the outfit. Descending the stairs, I bid my mother farewell and left the house.

Arriving at school, I headed straight to my locker and waited there until my friends, Sean, Luke, Cole, and Max, arrived. We shared a few laughs before I went to the vending machine to get drinks for all of us. That's when I spotted Ray, who always seemed to think he was superior to everyone else. He was so conceited. I tried to be quick, hoping he wouldn't notice me, but I was too late.

"Hey, skinny jeans, what are you doing?" Ray taunted, and I wished I could disappear.

"Fuck off, Ray!" I shouted back.

"Not until you fuck me first," he laughed, and I shot him a disdainful look before walking away with five drinks.

Walking down the hallway peacefully, I suddenly found myself slammed against a wall. What the actual fuck, Ray?

"Just got bored, skinny jeans," he said as he walked away.

I joined my group of friends and handed them their drinks. We chatted for a while before heading to our next class, science.

After an hour or so, we all walked out of school.

"Catch you guys later!" I shouted as I walked away.

I went to the shops, grabbed a can of Monster and a bag of crisps, and made my way to the park before heading home. Sitting on the swings, I listened to music and relaxed for a while. Just as I was about to get up, I saw him for the third time today. It puzzled me because his house was nowhere near this park, and it was at least an hour's walk away. He was simply wandering around, seemingly waiting for someone. I decided to follow him...
