+-[Kara Volpe]-+

He glanced over at the clock. It read 1:41. Kara breathed out quietly. Where are they?

It was normal for dad to work late. Kara knew his dad's schedule.

   5:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M, Junk collector job.

7:00 P.M. - 1:00 A.M, Bartending job, unless it was the weekends. Then, he'd just get drunk with Asgore until Midnight, or come home and pass out 30 minutes before his day job.

   1:10 A.M - 4:30 A.M, Sleep.

It was a Thursday, technically Friday with how late it was. Dad should be home by now. Kara looked at the clock again. 1:42. Kara could feel his worry grow. He sat up on the top bunk, and climbed down the ladder as quietly as he could, not wanting to wake Mizuki. Kara put his hand over his mouth to suppress the coughs bubbling up. Kara pushed the door open just enough to slip through. He closed it behind him and sped walked to the bathroom just a room over. He grabbed the handle with a shaking hand. He opened the door and went inside. The door closing sounded so much louder than it was in reality. Kara stumbled over to the sink. He grabbed onto the edge of the counter. The moment he removed his hand from his mouth, he coughed into the sink. Everything hurt. He couldn't feel the time passing by as blood splattered from his mouth onto the porcelain. It was slowly dripping down the drain. After no one knows how long, Kara gained some of his composure, and covered his mouth again. He tried to lower himless to the ground normally, but ended up collapsing onto his knees. He reached his other hand to the cabinet door, and opened it. All he saw were the pipes connected to the sinks, toilet paper rolls, and cleaning supplies. He knocked some of the bottles of cleaner over. Behind everything was a small match box.

Kara hastily grabbed it. When he opened it up, instead of matches there was grass. It was a few days old, and it smelled a bit of mildew. Kara didn't care. He took as much grass as he could into his hand and rabidly put it in his mouth, chewing, and then swallowing. He then took all the other blades of grass and ate them. He finally felt somewhat calm. As calm as he could be. He stood back up, match box still in hand, and set it on the counter. Having an emergency stash in here was a good idea. He thought. Kara was tired. He hadn't slept in 19 hours, give or take, and today had been an eventful day. He wanted to go to sleep, for just a little while. But he knew he couldn't.

He turned the faucet on and watched the blood wash away. Kara was so glad it didn't stain, or else Mizuki and dad would have a few questions. Once the blood was cleaned up, he opened the bathroom door and headed towards his and Mizuki's bedroom. He stepped lightly so as to not wake Mizuki up. He stood in front of their dresser, knelt down to the floor, and felt around.

I hid it somewhere under here... He thought. After a few moments, he felt a plastic bag and a small container taped together. He pulled it out from under the dresser, and went back to the bathroom.

He had put all the notes and the red gem together in one ziplock bag, and put the syringe and a small, plastic container. He closed the door and locked it. He then set the items onto the counter. Sighing to himself, he looked at the bathroom wall clock.

   2:02

He gritted his teeth, angry at himself for letting the stress get to him before. Obviously, dad and Asgore were hanging out late at night. Kara needed him to come home soon. He needed to have a conversation with a certain 'guardian'. Perhaps that wasn't the right word... she barely did anything to guard him. All she did was follow him around.

'I already have you, my dear, to protect the Solace girl. I just need to make sure the money maker doesn't drop dead!' She had said when Kara asked her about it. Out of all nights for dad to stay out late, well, later than usual, it had to be tonight?
