This first part will be in 3rd person perspective to set the scene and characters, the remainder will mostly be from Aeri's perspective. This is my frist book so if you do enjoy this please vote <3

March begins with the smell of flowers and signals the start of the school year for students in Korea. For Aeri it means her every move is judged by fellow students like hawks. Being in the popular friend group of her year has ups and downs. Yes she had many friends, people respected her and she could go to lots of parties but the constant spotlight makes her over think every step she takes.

Aeri's chain of thoughts was broken as her mum chimed up from the drivers seat of the car "Aeri we're here enjoy your second year at school" Aeri kisses her mum goodbye remembering her mums stubborness to drive Aeri for her first day even though she was capable of driving herself to school. As she stepped out of the vehicle she takes a deep breath of the fresh air spotting her friends the moment her eyes leave the ground.

She found herself analysing each member of her group, her long time friends Jimin and Minjeong were standing with Jeno, Mark, Yunjin and Kazuha who had only joined the original group as they moved into highschool last year. As Aeri gets closer she notices Ning, another one of her long time friends, she looked etheral with her black hair blowing with the wind. 

Then there was Jaemin, Ning's boyfriend, Aeri despised the man as he rarely showed enoguh care or thought towards Ning that was expected of a boyfriend. He couldn't even meet the standards of the bare minimum but it seemed as if only Aeri noticed his lack of interest in her friend. Everyone else believed they were the 'it' couple blind to the fact Jaemin was simply a horny teenager wanting Ning only for her body and popularity.

As she approached Kazuha was the first to notice the fellow Japanese girl "Hey Aeri god you're looking hotter than last year" Aeri couldn't help but giggle at her friends statement as she joined the huddle of her friends. Joining in the conversation which was mostly catching up on what they did over the winter break which wasn't much as they all spent most of that time together.

Shuhua a lesbian and Felix an openly bi student start walking past Aeri's group of friends, she can feel her chest clamp as Jaemin, Jeno and Mark all call out towards the pair. "Hey twink whats up" Jeno wraps his arm around the boy whos eyes are fixed on the ground. 

Mark has his attention on Shuhua "hey girl i think this boy has you a little confused, if you hang out with some real men you'll realise that being gay is delusional, I can show you how real love feels" he starts to run his hand down her back but she swats it away coupled with a venemous "fuck off"

 Aeri could feel her palms start to sweat as she runs her eyes over the girls she was standing with who didn't seem so bothered by this situation, it was a common occurance last year and it would continue this year, Aeri cursed at herself for not being used to it but also for not seeing why she couldn't be 'normal' like them. Why was she attracted to girls? 

Jaemin chuckles in response and pushes the girl to the ground "we were being nice giving you a chance you don't have to be a bitch" Felix wriggles out of Jeno's grasp and lands a punch square on Jaemin's cheeck. The look of anger on Jaemin's face was enough to let the students know a fight was seconds away as they all start circling them including Aeri and her friends.

The students couldn't be more right as Jaemin starts lathering the younger boy in punches forcing the boy to the ground, blood oozing from his busted lip. Mark and Jeno join Jaemin in stomping and kicking the helpless boy on the ground.

Aeri finds herself looking past a few students towards Minjeong who seem infuriated with the situation. Aeri finds her eyes travel to Minjeong's hands noticing how Jimin gently caressed them in a slightly intimate way. She knew she had to talk to Minjeong, her gaydar would go off for her younger friend 24/7 but knowing the country she lived in she held back to protect herself. It was a new year though, all the signs were flashing in Aer's brain.

"OI STOP" The teacher on duty's voice raided the students ears as he pushed his was towardss the commotion. Aeri turns to Ning looking to read her face for any of her thoughts but finds herself stumped with an unreadable expression.

With more teachers arriving the students disperse heading towards their classes.

Aeri walks quickly to catch up to Minjeong and Jimin. "I need to talk to you today after school, its kinda serious" she says pointing to Minjeong who just nods in response.

The day couldn't end any quicker as Aeri found herself paying less and less attention to her classes as the day passed. Though her brain wasn't empty it was stacking with thoughts and questions.

How could Ning still like Jaemin after all he does?
Why'd Minjeong react like that?
Why'd Jimin touch her like that?
What is Jimin and Minjeongs relationship, cause that shit was sus.
What was Ning's facial expression this morning?

Though one thing bothered Aeri the most, it wasn't exactly hot but it wasn't hoodie weather, so why was Ning wearing her hoodie? The girl was adament on keeping it on even through lunch as they sat in the sun.

Aeri was relieved of her thoughts as the bell rang, she packed her things and headed towards Minjeong's locker.

As Minjeong shut her locker her eyes met Aeri's "hey Aeri you didnt drive right?" Aeri chuckles "yeah I didn't, mum was adamant on her dropping me off today" "I drove here so lets go back to mine" After 10 minutes they arrived at Minjeong's house and headed up to her room.

"So Aeri what'd you want to talk to me about?" Aeri stroked her hair for a second before starting "I don't like the guy, I don't..." her voice trailed off for a second "its obvious you don't like them especially from your reaction this morning" 

Minjeong quickly jumped in "what reaction this morning?" "Minjeong I saw you clenching your fists and swelling with anger when Felix and Shuhua were getting bullied" MInjeong shifts in her position on her bed seemingly nervous of where the conversation wasa heading.

Aeri continued "I saw Jimin calming you down, holding your hand, stroking it" she paused examining Minjeong's obvious nervous demeanor. Letting out a breath "Minjeong, what is going on between you two?"

"N-nothing! we're jusst friends" Minjeong's voice cracking on every work "Minjeong, my gaydar has been going off like crazy, I practically know you're gay" Minjeong sighed in defeat. "Yes, yes I'm gay, yes I'm dating Jimin, but you can't say shit" "I won't say shit... I'm" Aeri stroked her hair, an obviously give away of her being nervous "I'm gay too"

Minjeong's eyes grew big "OH MY GOD AERI NO FUCKING WAY"

Her reaction was understandable, Aeri in no way gave off 'gay energy' hell she was voted as most straight during party games with her friends the same year she figured out she was gay. She was extremely good at hiding it, for now, though she didn't really have too as her 'straight aura' came naturally. All she had to do was to pull a random guys name out of her ass when she was asked who she liked which had been Soobin for the past year now.

The pair spent a while talking before Aeri's mum picked her up after her work.
