The boys beg at her feet,
The girls cringe in jealousy,
they all want to be just like her,
Because they think she feels beautiful,

But they don't know her,

They don't know how she feels when she steps in her home and she's alone,

They don't know what she looks like when she wakes up in the morning,

They don't know her.

The girls,
They envy her
body, lips, hair and face,
They envy her,

But they would never say so.

So this girl...

She's left wincing,
As she applies another layer of foundation,

She blinks backs tears,

Before brushing another stroke of
mascara onto those
perfectly thick long lashes.

She bites her lip to stop the quiver,

So she can add the lipstick.

All because
she was never told
she was beautiful.

She's left frying her hair
Because she dislikes her waves
and she slices a razor into her legs,
as she thinks she to fat.

Under her brand name sweater and
her designer jeans
are the scars that read,
"I'M UGLY"

Everyday another memory plays,
of her sitting in her bathroom
With tears stained face by the toilet, she tosses up her lunch again
all because
She was never told,
She was beautiful.

And her mother,
She worries everyday and ever night,
That her beautiful talented daughter,
Will soon end her life.

This girl has been to counselors and therapists,
but nothing helps
because there is no medication
that could be prescribed
to cure insecurity.

Beautiful Beautiful
"Why can't I be Beautiful?"

These words use to
Striker her like knives,
but now flow out so easily are,
The story of her life.

She doesn't see beauty.

She only sees flaws.

Sometimes there's a difference
between being beautiful and
Feeling Beautiful.

Another knife in her wrist,
Another tear down her cheek,
Another lunch gone to waste.

And she's gone,

She's gone.

It doesn't matter,
If everybody thinks she's beautiful,
Because she's gone.

She was sucked into a world,
Where only she and her ugly exist.

And believe it or not,
As she walks down the halls,
her classmates and peers,
don't see her as broken,

They see her as,
Just another pretty face.

She's just another pretty faceWhere stories live. Discover now
