"Opportunities and Challenges of Media and Information"

As this first qoute popped on the ppt, qouting, "Media and more importantly its ability to reach the public and provide commentary has been present since the existence of a town crier. The tradition of oration has evolved to broadsheet, books, radio, television, and now the digital age."
it made me think how the internet, or social media and its ability to share and provide information is really a powerful tool for us.

Social media has the power to change, and affect us, the whole world. It has the power to make us believe, or see things the way it is, or the way it really isn't.
See? Social Media really is powerful.

Social media is an essential component to us, for the societies, organizations, for the world, and for the future. In this modern age, how we act and run through this challenges are halfway because of the social media. It really is a powerful tool for us because of the help, and advantages it gives us.

This advantages includes:
Connectivity
To educate and help
To provide information and updates
Noble causes
Awareness
etc.

Social media helps us be and feel connected to other people, even for those who we only interact with behind the screens. It provides us the ability to build relationships with other people through social media apps such as facebook, instagram, and more that has a lot to offer in regards to building bonds with people. It also helps us be and to educate people, and provide and give liable information to the public and for those who see; keeping in note that we must always provide a factual information because of its strong ability to cause stirs to people.

Ofcourse, with its advantages, it also has its own disadvantages and threats.

The disadvantages includes:
Cyberbullying
Hacking
Fraud and Scams
False information
etc.

It is true that while social media is a powerful and helpful tool for us especially on sharing and providing important information, it is also true that it comes with its own threat to society, and especially, on the users.

As stated, it has its own disadvantages like mispreading of false informations.

It is not impossible for every users to encounter false informations, that's why it is important to note two important things:

-Always look for the factual and liable information.
Whenever we're browsing the internet, informations are always popping on screen. Whether it be a news, or important updates— it is always showing because of how the internet are powerful. With these in mind, it is important to always look for the truthful news and information that we see on the internet before believing, and spreading it. Social media is a powerful tool for change, and affect people.

-Be a responsible user.
It is true that the social media with its threat is dangerous. That's why, being a responsible user is a MUST. As I have said, social media has the power to affect society, that's why with just one click, it can change a whole lot of aspects of people that might see those what we posts. Being a responsible user means that you are not spreading lies on the internet, being truthful, and being mindful.

To end this, I conclude that Social media really is a powerful catalyst for us. Not just for the world, but for specifically the people living in it; the students, childrens, communities, government, organizations, etc. With the power that it has, being a responsible user is a MUST HAVE requirement of those who are a part of it.

As for me, I have been a responsible user since the day I have decided to open my eyes for the truth, and criticisms. Because of my eager to be a part of those who seeks for the truth and only for the truth, I have been a responsible, clean, mindful, and critical user.

And this is wha I have learned on this lesson.
