I turned around quickly to apprehend danger.

I took a step and he started speaking to idk who in call.

"What do YOU mean? Tomorrow we have a appointment with a big wealthy monkey! You cannot resign. Leave day after tomorrow. But not tomorrow. We can't afford this loss. Do as I say."

By the time he finished saying that, I was outside but my ears were pressed to the doorframe listening curiously.
