When we got to the waterfall, Annabeth and I met up to talk strategy. We were the team leaders, but I let Annabeth take all the credit. We came up with a good plan for Percy and then Chiron started talking again. "The first team to retrieve the opposing flag and return it across the river is the victor." Chiron said. "As Always, there will be no maiming and no killing. I trust that these rules will be respected." Chiron looked directly at me, causing me to put my hands up telling him that I would do as he said, "Any magical items you may possess, are permitted as well." Percy looked a little worried and looked down at his pen sword/Riptide and hesitated to uncap it. "Every camper who is not injured," Chiron started.
"It's okay," Luke whispered to Percy. "has to play." Chiron finished. "Let her rip." Luke said about Riptide. "Prisoners may be disarmed," Chiron said. "I don't even know what my job is." Percy said. "but may not be bound or gagged." Chiron said, making me smile because of my dirty mind. I felt Luke touching my hand with his pinky. He was clearly thinking the same thing as me. "Maybe I won't even need a sword." Percy said. "Let the games begin!" Chiron said and then the conch shell blew. The campers in red let out their battle cries also known as yelling.
"I'm gonna need a sword." Percy said and then the blue team also known as us minus Percy let out our battle cry. "All right." Annabeth said, walking over. "We have twenty minutes before the second conch and game on. You know what you're doing?" I asked Luke. "Yes, ma'am." Luke said while nodding and then he took his helmet off, leaned down and kissed my neck softly considering my helmet was covering my face. "Hey. Today feels like a winning day to you?" Annabeth asked. "See you on the other side." He said and then turned away. "Company! Move out!" I yelled pointing to the area of the bridge.
"Kleos!" They yelled and then they jogged towards the bridge. "Not you, Dummy." I said turning around to face Percy who was about to walk with them. "You're with her." I point to Annabeth and then turn around and run up next to Luke. "We gonna win?" I ask him. "With you as team leader, of course we are." He said with a smirk on his face. "Thank you." I said, proudly. "Anytime, pretty girl." Luke said.
A lot of blue teams got caught up fighting red. But Me, Luke, Chris and a few others went straight for the flag. We got caught up by a few reds and started fighting. Most of them stayed away from me. I helped my team capture the red and then we started walking again. "Weird..." I mumble. Luke and Chris look at me confused. "What's weird, Elena?" Chris says. "Clarisse hasn't tried anything with us yet..." I spoke. Clarisse only tries fighting me during capture the flag, because she knows I can't hurt her as bad as I would if she tried to fight me outside of a game. "Luke looked around until he laid eyes on the red's flag. "It's unguarded. Now's our chance-" Luke starts and start to move forward. "No. This seems like a trick. I mean, Clarisse leaving the flag unguarded? This is fishy."
Luke looked at me and nodded before turning to the rest of the kids. "Swords ready! We might have to put up a big fight!" Luke said. I gripped my dagger as we started to move forward and held my hand up for everyone to stop before I went behind a tree and looked behind the big rock the flag was perched on and saw six members of red team fighting some members of blue team. I looked over at Luke who was looking behind the other side of the rock and he gave me a thumbs up meaning it was clear. "Get the flag and run for the beach, if you have the flag in hand, don't try and fight, just go for the beach, the people behind you will protect you." I said, quietly. "You three," I say, pointing at three of the kids. "stay with me. We move in-front of the flag to protect it from the front." I say before pointing behind me and speaking, "Move." I speak. Everyone moves towards the flag and Luke grabs it and starts running back to me and the kids. We all started making our way to the beach. Reds gained up on us and started fighting the kids in the back. Lucky for the front, we were all fast runners so everyone in the back just started chasing us because we had the flag. Anyone on blue team was cheering, while red team was screaming "No!". I saw the beach ahead of us and Clarisse and some of her goons fighting Percy.
