ONE MONTH LATER

A week before Elizabeth's graduation dad and I are planning out her party. Elizabeth plans to leave for college in September. Ohio State University, the same college I attended. She has always dreamt of living where it snows. "I'm so excited for her dad." We smiled at each other and continued planning. "Alright, El wants to attend a party with some of her friends the night of graduation, we'll schedule the party for noon on Saturday," Dad says. I reply in a snarky tone, "I just hope she cures her hangover by then." I took a break from interior design to help my dad and sister plan for her upcoming events. I wanted to be there for her through it all, especially after the conversation we had the night I moved back home.

Thursday, the day before graduation. Elizabeth and I are headed out to lunch. "Daphne, I'm nervous to start college."
"I promise you are going to have the best college experience in Ohio. You will meet amazing people and maybe even fall in love like I did."
"You never told me what happened to Noah."
A name I have not heard in what feels like a lifetime
"I don't know if I can talk about it right now," I reply. The car falls silent, so I turn the radio on. We pulled into the parking lot of JoJo's, our favorite restaurant in Tucson.

After lunch, we arrive back at the house. Dad is waiting for us on the front porch. "Hey girls, how about a movie?" Elizabeth yells and runs into the house with excitement. Dad follows behind me and places his hand on my back. "Thank you for being here Daphne, she's been so down recently, but I see a difference in her since you've moved back in." We all gather on the large couch with enough space to fit an elephant, to watch High School Musical, Elizabeth's favorite movie. The movie ends and it is getting dark outside. Elizabeth turns to me with an excited look in her eyes and asks, "Can we have a sleepover?"
"Um of course!" I reply happily. We spend most of the night watching the other two High School Musicals, I glance over at Elizabeth sitting on the bean bag on my floor to see if she looks tired yet. "You tired sis?" I asked. "No, I'm good." She replies as she slowly falls asleep. I bring a blanket over and cover her. I needed  this.
