It's been a week since the snippet was out to the world and it's having it's breakthrough moment. The hashtag flooding on social media, people are begging for me to release it. But i'm waiting for the right opportunity.

Tonight, I'm performing Spread Thin at Mod Club for the first time and this is my biggest venue yet.

I had my friend Kiara come over my house to help me with my hair and makeup.

"What should I wear girl." I asked rustling through clothes in my closet. "Should I go casual and wear jeans or pull out a dress!?" I asked, holding two pairs of jeans in my hands being indecisive.

Kiara grabbed a white patterned dress off the hanger "You should definitely wear a dress to impress." she threw the dress in my hands.

"This one?" I asked for reassurance. "Yess now come sit down so i can straighten your hair" She said rushing me.

My hair is currently a ginger color but it's usually black. "700 people is going to be there Kiara, 700!!" I ranted as she put liner on my lips. "I knoww, are you excited!?" she said. "Yes, this is like the biggest audience I've ever performed in front of, especially in my hometown."

"They're gonna love you. I can already tell." Kiara assured me as she set my face with setting spray.

Once she was done, I put on the white dress and my black heels. "You ready!?" Kiara yelled all the way from downstairs. "On my way!" I yelled back.

I pulled up to Mod Club in a black jeep and entered through the VIP section.

I was doing vocal warm ups backstage with my guitarist. I had my friend Kiara recording and taking pictures of the whole thing for promotional purposes.

From where I was in the hallway, I could hear the crowd chanting Mariah, as they wait for me to appear

From where I was in the hallway, I could hear the crowd chanting Mariah, as they wait for me to appear.

"This is your big moment!!" Kiara cheered as she ran up behind to give me a quick side hug. "Are you ready for this!?"

"I'm ready as i'll ever be." I smiled. The DJ introduced me and I felt my heart beating out of my chest once I stepped on stage.

I heard the crowd stop chanting to hear a loud applause. 700 people can really make a lot of noise and fill up a whole room. I saw a bunch of lights from people recording off their phones.

"Hey everyone. I go by the name, Mariah the Scientist, and i'll be singing my soon to be single "Spread Thin". I said to the crowd as I adjusted the microphone stand.

The room was quiet and the instrumental of the song started playing. I closed my eyes and sanged the first melody of the song.

"And now I cannot trust you
And I'm forced to let you go"

The audience waved their hands in the air in sync as they sang the lyrics with me. Blue lights moved around in symphony.

The breakthrough moment came when the song reached its climax, and the cheers from the audience merged with the music.

As the final notes hung in the air, a wave of applause erupted, echoing in the large space.

When I was finished with the song, they wanted more. The crowd demanded an encore. I couldn't pass up on that opportunity.

"Would y'all want Not a Love Song orr Beetlejuice?" I teased the crowd. They wanted both so why not.

The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. Backstage, as I caught my breath, Kiara approached me with a smile that mirrored the audience's enthusiasm.

"Bitch, you did that!!" she cheered giving me a big hug. "Thank you!! I'm literally so ecstatic right now." I exclaimed smiling real big. "Woo! It's time to celebrate" Kiara yelled as we left the venue.

As I stepped out into the city night, the atmosphere had changed. Fans lined up, eager for a selfie or a autograph.

"Can we take a selfie?" a fan asked, excitement lighting up their eyes.

The requests multiplied, and I found myself surrounded by people who had been moved by my music. The recognition wasn't just in their applause; it was in the way they spoke about how the lyrics resonated with their experiences.

When I had enough, Kiara acted as my bodyguard and broke up the crowd to guide me back to the car.

"See, what did I tell you!? They love you!" Kiara praised me as I was catching my breath. "It all feels like a dream." I laughed not knowing that this was just the beginning.

"Tequila shots on me!" Kiara cheered. "Let's not tell Aaron about this." I said making us both laugh.
