How was Alexander Hamilton gay? He married a woman and loved 2 others, didn't he? Yes, he did. He's not technically gay, he's bisexual. Let me explain.

Let's start from the beginning: when he met his friends. Hercules Mulligan, Marquis de Lafayette, John Laurens and Aaron Burr. Also, did you know Lafayette's full name was Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier de Lafayette Marquis de Lafayette? Just a random fact about how long his name was. Anyway, he met them when he was just 19 and had just moved to the US from the Island of Nevis in the Eastern Caribbean. He met them while looking for Aaron to speak to him. After that, he met his wife Elizabeth Schuyler at a winter's ball. A lot of fans of the musical Hamilton will know this. They got married but then Alexander went to fight in the revolution. During this time, he had more time with his friends. I'm not sure of the exact time (I cannot find it anywhere) but at some point he had a threesome with Lafayette and Laurens. They were actually called the gay trio by Hamilton's grandson. Gay also meant happy back then but that's besides the point.

Alexander and Laurens wrote love letters to each other. Don't believe me? They are on the internet. Here's an extract:

Cold in my professions, warm in [my] friendships, I wish, my Dear Laurens, it m [ight] be in my power, by action rather than words, [to] convince you that I love you. I shall only tell you that 'till you bade us Adieu, I hardly knew the value you had taught my heart to set upon you.

Alexander Hamilton, Founding Father, April 1779.

They sent the letters from 1779-1782. So he didn't just have an affair with Maria Reynolds, he also had one with Laurens and Lafayette! 3 years of love letters is a lot, and actually more time than Alexander and Maria! Their affair was a month before Maria's husband found out. This makes me feel quite bad for Eliza. She wouldn't have known but he not only cheated on her with another woman but with 2 men. I cannot fathom how she forgave him after cheating on her with Maria and then sharing it to everyone. She was a great woman and Alexander was very lucky.

I'll go a bit more in-depth. During the war, at the beginning Alexander didn't fight. He wrote letters for George Washington, the general and first president of the US. His friends did fight, however. Later on, after Charles Lee was fired and injured in a duel by Laurens, he began to fight. After Laurens died from British soldiers retreating, Alex became a lawyer. Then he became Secretary of Treasury. Anyway, this is the end of my essay. Sorry for making it so short!

Edit: Should I write more things like this? And should I make them longer?
