BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! CLICK!
Kyon turned off his alarm and groggily sat up in bed.'Aw crap, it's Monday', he thought as he slowly trudged himself to the bathroom to start his usual routine.
Kyon hated Mondays with a passion and I know what your thinking, don't we all hate Monday? Well Kyon had his own reason to hate it. It wasn't that he hated school or even that he'd miss lazing around at the weekend. The reason Kyon hated Monday so much was because of her, the girl that made who Kyon's highschool life a living hell, Haruhi Suzumiya. See on Monday the SOS Brigade, the club Haruhi made and forced Kyon and several others to join, spent hours doing random activities that didn't even have anything to do with the club and the only reason they did them was to keep Haruhi from getting bored.

As Kyon walked up the steep hill to school, he pondered about what they were gonna have to do today, he just hoped that Haruhi was in a good mood....he was wrong.
Kyon entered the classroom and walked over to his desk by the window. Haruhi was already in and she was sitting in her seat behind his with her head on the desk and looking out window. ''Oh no'', Kyon thought as a slight sense of fear over came him. ''Haruhi's upset, which means I'm gonna have to be the one to cheer her up''
As he sat down he got a better look at Haruhi and thought their was something different about her, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. ''Hey'',Kyon said in the cheeriest voice he could muster.''What's up?''
Haruhi didn't respond, she didn't even look at him. Kyon was positive now, there was definitely something wrong with Haruhi.
''So, how was your weekend?''
Again, no response.
''Do you have any plans for the club today?''
No response. Kyon was starting to become slightly irritated but he had no idea why. ''Shouldn't it be a good thing that she's ignoring me? And yet I feel kinda annoyed'',he quickly shook away the thought and continued to talk.
''Haruhi, is something wrong?'',he asked with a slight tone of concern in his voice but she just proceeded to look at the window. Kyon then realized what was different about her, her hair was in a ponytail. 'But why?',he thought. He decided to ask about it.
''Hey, did you do something different with your hai-''
''Ponytail'',Haruhi said abruptly before Kyon could even finish his sentence. 'Well at least she spoke', he thought.'Maybe I should compliment her'
''Well, it looks good on you'',With that Haruhi sat up and although she wasn't facing him, or looking at him for that matter, Kyon could clearly see a frown forming on her face.
''I didn't ask you for your opinion'',she said ''Why are you even talking to me?''
Kyon was stunned to say the least. Haruhi hadn't talked to him like that since their first 4 months or so of knowing each other and even then it just sounded like she was slightly annoyed but this time there was pure anger and even a slight hint of sadness in her words. Sure Haruhi bossed him around and called him names but he'd never seen her actually be mad at him, other than the time when they made that movie for the school festival, and on top of that....this time he had no idea why she was angry.
He weighed his options. Kyon could either ask her why she was mad or he could just turn back into his desk and wait 'till after school to see if she was still angry, and since the bell was about to ring he went with the latter.
*********
The rest of the day went by fairly slowly. Haruhi didn't talk to Kyon or anyone else for the entire day and when the teacher asked her a question she didn't respond she just continued staring out the window with a slight look of sadness in her eyes. When the final bell rang she was the first one to leave class.
