A unique one too as it has Cruiser Like Armament. Consisting of 4, 9.2 inch guns in 2 Twin Turrets. The same guns used in the Lucena Class Heavy Cruisers.
Bow to stern they were 208.5 meters long. Had a beam of 32.3 meters and a Draft of 10.1 meters. And displaced 21.500 tons
They had 2 self contained Boiler and Engine rooms. A practice adopted from the US/Eagle Union Navy. This meant that if one of the Boiler/Engine room was knocked out. The other Boiler/Engine room can still operate under reduced power.
The ships were not designed to be speedy. As such they operate usually as their own fleets escorted by the slower battleships but their propulsion consisted of 6 diesel engines and 2 Turbines driving 2 shafts at a speed of 28.5 knots.
The ships distinctive feature is her half Cruiser half Helicopter Carrier configuration. This was due to the unpredictability of Siren Attacks. It was felt necessarily to not only armed these ships. But also add armor to them. 2 ships were completed. Viribus Unitis and Szent István.
