⸻ journey was up for school, waking up to her alarm that was set at five thirty am to where she took a shower, her skincare and put her clothes on. she did all of this early because she had to give her grandmother her medicine before she left out for school since her mom left for work at five in the morning.
knocking on the door softly, she slowly pushed the door open to see her grandmother on the bed and her sister jasmine sitting on the small couch changing the channel. "morning." journey smiled.
"morning sis." jasmine replied. "she wanted me to put on pbs and jasani downstairs getting her breakfast."
nodding, she went ahead to pick up the medicine off the side table. "morning journey." her grandmother, kathleen—but they call her kitty, smiled at her granddaughter. "how you doing?"
"i"m good, how are you?"
"he woke me up to see another day right?" she chuckled, making journey agree with a head nod. though journey knew the medicine helped, she dreaded giving it to her grandmother because it was just a reminder of her illness that she's been experiencing for the past year.
"ma said we're having dinner tonight at her friend's house after school." jasmine shared to her sister. "says her friend has kids of her own, even some your age." journey nodded, not really concerned about the dinner tonight or who the kids may be. what she was concerned about is if she should tell bryson or not.
weird right? she's scared to tell her boyfriend about a dinner. but then again, he put that fear in her heart with the fact that he gets mad at her over any little thing. and when i say any little thing, i mean it.
