Everything is falling
Spiralling downward
But it's so beautifully mesmerizing
I don't feel the need to make it stop
The shattered pieces are so alluring
I think I'll sit back and watch
Mayday! Mayday!
We're spiralling out of control
But all I can seem to do
Is sit back and watch us fall
I'm frozen
Numbed and fascinated
As the ground rushes up to meet us
And the pieces spiral, so far...
Am I crazy?
Surely, some sense of alarm
Should have arrested me
Moved me into action
Compelled me to make this stop
But maybe that's the effects of exhaustion
When you've spent so much time preventing the break
Mayday! Mayday!
We're spiralling out of control
But all I can seem to do
Is sit back and watch us fall
I'm frozen
Numbed and fascinated
As the ground rushes up to meet us
And the pieces spiral, so far...
So far
All these pieces
Fragments of a broken up past
Are dancing in front of my eyes
Like leaves, spiralling down...
Farther down, till they hit the ground
And I have no control
None at all, it seems
But isn't it pretty?
This art of falling
While everything else falls apart
Watching as the flames burn it up
Spiralling down, down, down...
Burning.
