Jay's P.O.V

Look, Jay's first few days on this job seem like a blast. Everything was great, but he starting to think that the owner trapped him as a barista to clean whatever the hell the customer left. Sure, it's not all that bad. At least one of his coworkers, Zane is great to talk to. Well, when he's not working. Zane is like a machine, cold on the inside yet prestigious when does his work, like making art inside the coffee cups.

Today was a terrible day for Jay. Honestly, it felt like a main character who was having terrible luck. First it started with a cold shower. As a morning person, morning shower are practically telling you how your day is going to go. Guess Jay's was telling him it was going to be a great day! (not really).

Next was probably leaving his homework after school. There was practically nobody at the shop so why not spent it on doing your homework. That was Jay's plan until he realized it was not there.
'great' Jay thought.
'two terrible things happen on the same day so what else could go wrong?'

And just a few moments ago he's covered with multiple stains on his shirt from spilling a drink and the guy who order it yelling in his face.

He needed a break. He started to put his head down on the table.
"You know Zane? this might be the worst day in my life" Jay mumbled, closing his eyes for just a moment
"It could be worst. I personally doubt that this could be the worst. And you never know when life would start going up. Maybe tomorrow will be better"
"...hopefully it will. Thanks Zane".

A peaceful silence was in the air but everything must change. It ended when Zane spoke to Jay.

"I know this day is awful for you but...could I leave early?"
Jay could sense Zane uncertainty by his tone of voice, and as much as he didn't want to work, Zane deserved to leave early. He wanted Zane to have a good day so he agreed.

After that he started spacing out from boredom and only looking at customers whenever the bell on the door started to ringing. He started wondering why Zane wanted to leave early? There gotta be a reason for it, it unusual for Zane and he only knew him for 3 Week now.

Jay heard the bell ring and mentally prepared himself to make a forced smile and talk politely to another customer.

Jay put on his 'polite voice' "Hi! Welcome to the Bounty Cafe, what can I get for you?"

"Hi, just a caramel latte for me" The voice said.
"Yeah sure, That would be for $4.50 today!" Jay replied waiting for the customer's card. Jay started to look up at the stranger when he heard the sound of a zipper. The customer was looking in his pocket to get his wallet. Jay took a noticed to this customer. He has light hazel eyes and a scar over one of them. By the looks of it he put gel on his hair and Jay swore he has light freckles around his tan skin. He would probably be describe as someone who's 'cool' maybe even 'hot' as well but in a way this customer featured make him look.. pretty?

Jay doesn't know how to long he's been staring but finally the customer gives his card to Jay, also making the tips of their fingers touch.

"Sorry about that. Thanks for waiting" the customer mumbled, looking at Jay.

Normally this would cause an annoyance to Jay. Waiting a while for them to get out their card when they should've had it ready. But he didn't seem to mind when it was this customer.

"It's no problem. Oh! umm.. Would you like your name to be called? If so, may I get your name?" Jay stuttered, he felt his cheeks becoming warm whenever the customer looked at him. Like right now. But he decided to ignore that and give the customer back his card.

"yeah that would be great, it's Kai".

'Kai' Jay thought when Kai left to go sit at a table, he took small glances when he was making his drink but it would always be quick. He didn't want Kai to see he was looking at him.

That drink was probably the best drink Jay ever made. It look decent for a beginner like him.

"Order for Kai!" Jay yelled, already look at him. He saw him get up from the table. Maybe Jay could talk to him, and become friends with him.

However that was quickly going to be difficult to do. Kai just mumble a quick 'thank you' and left quickly. Leaving Jay at the coffee shop.

'man.. this really is the worst day. I couldn't even talk to Kai!' Jay thought. 'it would probably be weeks until he shows up again'.

Once again Jay put his head down and saw a certain costumer when he closed his eyes. His whole face has become warm from Kai's eyes looking at him.
