~ you and your father have just got into a huge fight because he spent his whole life controlling you but now your finally 18 you can get away from him ~
"i promise you father, you will never see my face again.", you wailed as you raced out of your house, slamming the door loudly behind you, tears poured down your face, as your legs carried you as fast as they possibly could, the further away from your house, the better.
You reached the ranch at the bottom of your village, you took one look back at it, it was all you had ever known, but you knew there was so much more out there and you had to get away from here. Without a second thought, you mounted your white horse, which you had already saddled up earlier that day knowing your plan, and with a slight kick to the backside, the horse began to gallop away from your small, home town.
For days you travelled, with only the few possessions you brought, a small amount of money, the gun your grandfather had passed down to you, and the summers breeze, to keep you company. It was currently around 1.pm, the boiling sun was beating down on your face, your head pounded with dehydration, as you hadn't drank or eaten since the day you ran away, you felt your grip on the horses reigns getting looser, your vision became blurred and your head felt heavy on your shoulders. You knew you needed to rest.
You tried to remain conscious, which proved to be difficult as your eyes fought to stay open, as you headed towards a seemingly uninhabited, wooden cabin just a few yards away. As you arrived closer, you knew that your inspection was correct and there was in fact nobody there. You tied your horse to a nearby wooden post, and headed inside the cabin. Unexpectedly, inside the cabin there was 5 beds, food, water and countless whiskey bottles, but in your tired and delirious state, you thought nothing of it, grabbed a glass of water and passed out in the nearest bed.
~ two days later ~
After two whole days of sleeping, you finally stirred into a somewhat awake state, you squinted your eyes open for a split second, before quickly shutting them again and rubbing your eyelids vigorously, "where the hell am i?", you spoke your thoughts out loud, obviously not expecting an answer. "It appears, your in my bed sweetheart.", a deep, yet soft voice answered back to you.
Your eyes opened rapidly, as your whole body jolted back, you now sat up in the bed wide awake, without another thought you reached under your pillow to retrieve your gun, clocked it and pointed it towards the man sat at the end of the bed. You looked up at him for the first time, stunned by his appearance, his face so perfectly symmetrical, his lips pink and plump, deep brown hair falling over his forehead, the rest covered by a navy blue hat. His piercing blue eyes almost starred into your sole as he looked at you and let out a laugh, "now now darlin', you should never point a gun like that, unless you intend to use it.", he spoke the words calmly with a smirk, as he used two of his fingers to lower the barrel of your gun.
You sat in shock, your mouth hung open slightly as you tried to process what was happening right now, "W-who are you?", you asked timidly, looking up at the man that sat before you. "Well my names Billy, and you are?", he asked politely. "Y/N.", you answered quietly, as your cheeks began to turn a deep shade of red, as the embarrassment of what had just happened began to sink in, you had just been found by some random man in his bed, and that man had turned out to be the most gorgeous, tall, muscular and charming man you had ever laid eyes on.
He only laughed at your embarrassment and carried on the conversation, "well, Y/N that's a very pretty name, but i'm still wondering what you're doing in my bed?",he asked. You jumped up out of his bed, pulled on your boots which were somehow placed next to the bed, and picked your gun up from the bed, placing it back in the small bag you carried, "oh i'm terribly sorry Billy, i was just leaving.", you say in a hurry to end this embarrassing interaction, as you headed towards the cabin door.
Just as your foot was about to step out of the door, you felt a strong arm pulling you back inside, "not so fast", billy said leading you over to the wooden dinner table, you rolled your eyes at his actions, but you were secretly hoping he might stop you from leaving, as something about him intrigued you. His free arm pulled out a chair for you to sit on, "how about you take a seat, i'll cook you something up and you can explain this all to me.", he said with a gentle smile, you returned a smile and nodded your head slowly, "alright.", you said, feeling comforted by his words, as no one has ever showed any interest in your problems before.
You watched billy closely from your seat at the table, he was so tall his head was almost touching the ceiling of the cabin, you watched on as he fried some eggs for the both of you in a small frying pan, and carefully plated them up with a side of toasted bread, he placed one plate in-front of you and the other infront of himself as he took the seat across from you, "thankyou.", you said gratefully before tucking in to your first meal in days.
"So, how come you ended up here?", Billy asked while covering his mouth politely, "It's a long story.", you reply almost in a whisper, with a smile, "well good job i'm a good listener then.", he said, returning a smile. "Well my mother died when i was very young, i barely even knew her, so i grew up with only my father and two older brothers, John and Marcus," you tell him as he listens eagerly, "And all my life i was treated so differently from my brothers, by my father, he controlled every aspect of my life, i've never once had a friend, or anyone to confide in except from my grandfather, but he too passed away five years ago when I was thirteen, that's how i ended up with this.", you say, lifting up your gun from the table with a slight giggle, before continuing, "i remember he said to me, ' i pray there's never a day when you have to use this Y/N, but i will be able to rest peacefully knowing you can protect yourself out there' ."
You felt tears welling in your eyes as you recalled these memories, that you had buried so deep within your mind, you had barely had time to remember them until now, a single tear fell from your eye, but for once, somebody cared. Billy reached across the table, cupped the side of your face with his large hand and used his thumb to wipe the tear from your cheek, he looked over at you comfortingly, "it's okay, i'm here now.", he said sincerely, you were comforted by his words and continued to speak, your voice breaking a little as you did, "so that's it really, i knew i had to leave because the life i was living with my father was not something i could ever be happy with, so i ran away as far as i could and, here i am", you say before sighing deeply, your hand now in Billy's as his thumb rubbed comfortingly across your knuckles.
